10 Customer Questions
Should/could this be fed to wild ducks and geese?
Answer by • May 21, 2020
This may be fed continuously as the sole ration to ducks and geese (over 4 weeks), pullets (6-16 weeks) and gamebirds (over 14 weeks). Feed continuously as the sole ration to growing chickens, ducks, geese and gamebirds from 6 weeks to laying age or market weight. This product can also be used as a maintenance feed for mature flocks of non-producing poultry.
Does this food float in water?
Answer by • Aug 19, 2021
Kalmbach Feeds are not designed to float.
Besides oyster shell, what else would I need to supplement this feed with to create a multi-flock layer feed? (And/or what can I add to boost protein?) I have chickens, ducks, and a goose all laying right now and at our location the ground is still too frozen/wintery for any good forging.
Answer by • Mar 23, 2021
If you want to use this feed for laying birds, all you need to provide is a free-choice source of calcium like the oyster shell mentioned or limestone chips. Adult female ducks and geese have similar nutrient requirements as adult chickens. If all of the birds are female and lay regularly, you may also consider our Kalmbach Feeds All Natural Non-GMO 17% Protein Layer Crumbles (or pellets) Chicken Feed.
There is no results for what "non-producing poultry" means, exactly. Does this mean until laying age? Then what do you feed mixed flocks?
Answer by • Jul 11, 2022
Non-Producing poultry means Non-Laying Poultry for this food.
