I purchased this starter feed for my new chicks because I really like the regular feed for my adult chickens. However it is supposed to be crumbs but it is more like dust. Very little crumbs. Really disappointing! Going to return what I have and order something else.
The chicks seemed quite happy with the feed until we got to the bottom of the bag to find it full of mold, we are on high alert for sick chicks now.
I have used several brands for this batch of chicks. They seem to be gobbling this one up the most, so they are luvin it.
I bought two 50lbs and my chicks love it. I wish I would have gotten these when they were smaller though. My chicks were 4 weeks and the previous feed was larger and not as small so they were pouring it all over the place. They enjoyed it though and I do see them growing up like crazy ever since feeding them thus particular one. It is more in the dusty side but I don't have any regrets. The price for none GMO is really reasonable and worth it.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the feed, nice little pieces easy for new chicks to eat. The birds are looking wonderful on this feed and I really recommend it
I am new to raising chickens and I am doing it here in Brooklyn, New York. The chickens love it; therefore so do I.
The pullets eat it right up. A little too much dust, but it’s also a chick food. I need to clean it out of the bottom of the feeder so they can get to the crumbles they enjoy.
I’m impressed with the quality of a non GMO brand. The price was so great too
This batch of chicks grew much faster than any of our previous, and I think it’s the feed. We always raise an assortment of rare breeds, and often they are slow growers. This feed is well worth the slightly higher cost.
I have been feeding this to my 2.5 Week old ducklings from day 1. I mix in a brewers yeast supplement so they get enough niacin, and they are all growing at a healthy rate. This feed is not too dusty, and it actually smells so good that I almost want a taste! I’m glad you can buy it in 50lb bags, because my girls eat ravenously! Would definitely recommend.
