Adult Cat: Feed about 1/2 a can per 8 lbs of body weight per day.
Kitten: Feed up to twice the amount as Adults.
Gestation & Lactation: Feed up to 3 times the normal Adult amount.
When transitioning to a new pet food, do so slowly over a period of about 7-10 days, mixing an increasing amount of new food with old food each day: Start with 75% old food mixed with 25% new food for approximately three days. Then mix 50% old with 50% new for approximately three days.
My cats eat all sorts of chicken wet food however this one though good quality is not too their palette. Seems like its too bland for my catos who like to smell their food as well.
This one labeled as KASIKS is a part of Firstmate brand and slightly differs in ingredients from the original Firstmate Cage free chicken can. The difference is very slight but is in the ingredient, texture, and water content - the other one includes potato starch while this one include pea ? and some other minor differences. This one is more in between jelly and pate while the other is pate with more water. It was kinda surprising bc my cat usually dislikes pate w less water, prefers soup like texture like caru, yet still loved this one. Her preference is KASIKS chicken = Firstmate chicken > Firstmate chicken & tuna > Firstmate tuna (from most liked to least fav). Apart from that all of their products are super rich in nutrients and good clean ingredients, has no recall history and great taste.
My elderly, health-challenged kitty loves this and can't seem to get enough of it. Other canned foods were too hard on her tummy. She has IBD, and couldn't seem to keep things down until we found this one! All is well for my sweet kitty now. This is wonderful stuff.
Great quality product! My 2 cats love the taste. I love the ingredients and quality.
Really hard to find low-phosphorus formulas for CKD cats. Low-phosphorus probably because it's deboned. Have researched this a long time, and even brands which seem healthful can have shockingly high phosphorus levels, so was thrilled to find this one. Plus my fuss-pot tortoiseshell love-cat likes it, and will even eat it as cold leftovers -- unheard of.
The ingredients are comparable to other high quality meat based canned food, but it's much more affordable than many of them if you buy the 12 oz. cans. My Cats all love it so I'm going to keep ordering it.
I love this food. It doesn’t have any cancer causing additives, comes in large can and therefore is economical and the animals are humanly raised. My 5 cats love it. I would recommend this product to everyone.
I was excited to find a large can of what I thought would be shredded chicken similar to Weruva to feed my cats. With large Siberians it's more economical to use large cans but few companies make them. Unfortunately, the texture is more of a pate, and my cats refuse to eat it. Disappointed.
Averaged the rating. My cat begs for chicken. Read the ingredients and thought this would be a winner. He would rather starve than eat this. I’m sure a good product, it’s just not for my boy.
My cat ONLY eats chicken and he loves this stuff. I did have to hide a treat in the food the first time he tried it, but now he eats it all without coaxing. The texture varies quite a bit from can to can. Sometimes it's like a pate, other times it's liquid soup. Cat doesn't mind too much, but it is messy for me if I open the can too quickly.
