I was really hoping my boys would like this food. Good ingredient list, but they do not like the taste or the texture. I tried MANY toppers to get them to eat it, but no luck. The quest continues to find a healthier food that they will eat as well as they like their Friskies indoor pate.

One of my cats has IBD, primary a sensitivity to gums and "chunkier" food. It took me a long time to find something with an ingredient list I could trust and I'm so glad I found Kasiks. No guar gum. No xanthan gum. No yeast (for the chicken and salmon varieties). Pate texture. The only ingredients besides vitamins and minerals are a single protein and pea starch. And the kicker is the price point- if you get the 12.2 oz cans, it comes out to $0.34/oz. For comparison, Fancy Feast pate is about $0.31/oz, so the price difference for a much higher quality food is very small. (For another comparison, Tikicat also makes a gum-free chicken wet food for $0.64/oz, almost double the price.) If your IBD cat's trigger is chicken or fish than unfortunately this won't help, but for sensitive cats without those allergies, this is terrific. I've been using it for about a year and I hope Chewy never gets rid of it.

At first my cats ate it, and seemed to really like it, but they quickly stopped liking it, and refused to eat it, even when I mixed it w/one it the other foods they like.

This one labeled as KASIKS is a part of Firstmate brand and slightly differs in ingredients from the original Firstmate Cage free chicken can. The difference is

This one labeled as KASIKS is a part of Firstmate brand and slightly differs in ingredients from the original Firstmate Cage free chicken can. The difference is very slight but is in the ingredient, texture, and water content - the other one includes potato starch while this one include pea ? and some other minor differences. This one is more in between jelly and pate while the other is pate with more water. It was kinda surprising bc my cat usually dislikes pate w less water, prefers soup like texture like caru, yet still loved this one. Her preference is KASIKS chicken = Firstmate chicken > Firstmate chicken & tuna > Firstmate tuna (from most liked to least fav). Apart from that all of their products are super rich in nutrients and good clean ingredients, has no recall history and great taste.
