Can this travel carrier be used for two small miniature dachshund puppies? They are only about 13 weeks old so still pretty small. Also, what size is recommended for these two puppies in one carrier?

This product has not been tested by a government agency. It is intended to keep both the driver and the pet safe from the distraction of the pet being loose while you are driving. The product includes straps that secure the carrier to the headrest as well as the seat belt. In the event of an accident the carrier will help restrain your pet from flying freely throughout the car.

Can the small sized carrier fit be used on the front passenger seat of the car, or do all of them have to be in the back seat?

The carrier can be installed to either the front or back seats.

Is the carrier held rigid by something like wire in the edge seams? Or will it collapse flat when not strapped into the car?

The edges and sides of the carrier are supported by wiring material. This product is meant to be collapsible when folding it up, but when strapped in the car, it includes straps that secure the carrier to the headrest as well as the seat belt to keep it upright.

After reading some reviews, I was a little concerned that my cats, who have clawed through an old plywood door and dislike car rides, would be able to get out of

After reading some reviews, I was a little concerned that my cats, who have clawed through an old plywood door and dislike car rides, would be able to get out of this. However, I'm happy to report that their repetitive clawing at the mesh was not able to tear any wholes. Although, it was important for me to tie the zippers for the big side doors together, as their attempt to dig through the corner of the carrier did open the zippers slightly. I also wanted to mention that the entire carrier besides the mesh and the bottom 2 inches of the back have a ridged material invetween the fabric layers that prevents cat claws from going through and scratching up leather seats. I didn't realize that when I bought it, but it was a very pleasant surprise.

But the carrier serves its purpose so well I have repurchased the same item each time. Our pup is used to it and happy to hop in each time we take him in the car. It is safer that having him loose and he seems comfortable in it.
