How does the neck go on? Over the head or with a separate closure

Can this be used for my dachshund?

I have 2 house kittens, who have never been on a leash or harness. How should I go about helping them to adjust to your harnesses

When first showing your cat the harness, allow them to sniff and play with it before attempting to put it on. While spending time with or in the harness, give them plenty of treats to reinforce positive associations. Once you buckle the harness, allow your cat to move around the house freely and get comfortable before attaching a leash or attempting to explore outdoors.

What happens if a cat pulls backwards in this harness? In a traditional H harness, by hunching shoulders, my cat can escape. Does this harness have that flaw?

Secure, well made, perfect fit

We've known about Kitty Holster for years, we used a smaller one when we had to drive across country with a very skittish calico cat. It was perfect for another cat that I had to fly with to bring home (in addition to being a carrier, or course). Theo wants to go out, but at 17 lbs he is very strong, can run really fast and does not listen! He only gets to go out wearing this very secure vest and leash. It is so comfortable he walks with it on normally and even if he gets a notion to take off or gets startled, I know he's safe and secure. There are no other kinds of harnesses that will work safely with cats, since their anatomy is completely different from dogs...dog harnesses do not work on cats! Bonus...he looks so handsome!

Cat jacket

I have 4 cats so i got 4 of the kitty holster the biggest is 28 lbs his stayed on the smaller girls are escape artists couldn't keep them in the jacket they kept

I have 4 cats so i got 4 of the kitty holster the biggest is 28 lbs his stayed on the smaller girls are escape artists couldn't keep them in the jacket they kept getting their head out and then they would finally get out of the rest of it I was hoping these would workout for traveling I did measure each 1 and they fit but couldn't keep them on 3 of the 4 cats.

The Kitty Holster Chewy sent only slightly resembled a previous halter that I'd purchased online. That other Holster was a similar design, but was constructed of a thicker material and had a wider more comfortable lining around the neck area. Honestly, the one I received was more like something for a doll! It certainly did not qualify for being the most expensive of the wrap-around Velcro closure style, the most secure type I've used for walking my one 15-lb kitty.

Sturdy harness

This one ended up being a little big (my cat was in between sizes) but the harness is well made. The hook and loop connection is strong (almost too hard to get off

This one ended up being a little big (my cat was in between sizes) but the harness is well made. The hook and loop connection is strong (almost too hard to get off when you want to - my cat has medium hair and it's hard to pull the straps and not her fur). My cat appreciated that something wasn't going over her head, and other than the fact the arm holes are too big for her on this one, I think most cats would be unlikely to get out as long as you follow harness best practices (stay behind the cat and don't let them pull backward against the leash). Will be trying the small version shortly. Wish they came in more colors/patterns!

Easy to put on and very well made.

After a few times, Leo adapted to his new Kitty Holster. At first, the velcro noise disturbed him, and he acted like he was lame, and refused to walk. His old harness

After a few times, Leo adapted to his new Kitty Holster. At first, the velcro noise disturbed him, and he acted like he was lame, and refused to walk. His old harness was a simple set of webbing with clips that jammed and broke. Nothing will break on this Kitty Holster, but Leo did not like the straight jacket concept. He usually climbs trees, but with the Kitty Holster, he was much more sedate. He got over it and started climbing again. We'll use the KH during winter, but go back to the lighter webbing harness for summer.

Still in-home training phase

Right now she sits on it. Got it on only 1 time so far. Like the instructions say, be calm & don't force it. Fat cat with a very small head, it's tricky.

Velcro

I put this on my cat and within an hour She had taken off. I don't know how because I had the Velcro fastened tightly.

BEST cat harness

My cat loves to walk and be outdoors with me. However, we have many coyotes, bob cats, mountain lions etc. I have tried many harness's and first only testing it

My cat loves to walk and be outdoors with me. However, we have many coyotes, bob cats, mountain lions etc. I have tried many harness's and first only testing it out in our backyard and he could always get out of them. This one is a winner!!!!!! Easy to put on, super strong Velcro connection and nothing over the head and no straps to adjust. Kudos to this product. I adopted my boy at age 5 from a rescue and he was used to being outside. Now he can safely be outside with me.

Secured kitty

Purchased for my sweet girl so that she can be more secured in while on car rides. The Velcro is very strong and the size guide was spot on.
