16 year old grumpy and arthritic cat approves

    By on

TL;DR at bottom. My friend has a really old cat that is 16 years old with a lot of health problems. She can barely go from point A to point B without having to stop and you can tell she's in pain. Her old litter box made it nearly impossible for her to get in it to do her business. My friend called me, heartbroken because because she keeps making a mess outside the box she had and it was causing a lot of problems. I mean, really. Would you want to scrub a floor every single day if you could help it? After getting off of the phone with my friend, I dug around on the internet for a while and asked a friend who recommended that I try to find a senior litter box. After about 30-40 minutes of searching TL;DR at bottom. My friend has a really old cat that is 16 years old with a lot of health problems. After getting off of the phone with my friend, I dug around on the internet for a while and asked a friend who recommended that I try to find a senior litter box. After about 30-40 minutes of searching and pouring through reviews, I decided to buy this as a surprise for my friend's cat. She now uses the litter box I bought. The walls aren't very high on the sides so sometimes she really tries to go in the box but it ends up on the outside of the box, [or she'll knock out litter over the walls] hence the four stars. If the other walls were higher, this would definitely be a 5/5 star item. There aren't a lot of senior litter boxes out there so I know the price tag doesn't look very nice but think of all the money you'll save from not having to scrub your floor because your old cat couldn't make it to the box. Also, think of the peace of mind you'll have from having a clean room! Tl;dr: friend called me about his 16 year old cat and how she can't make it into the litter box. Purchased this for her and 4/5 stars because the other walls could definitely be higher so that vision impaired cats don't accidentally poop outside the box. … more

Perfect for training feral or outdoor kitties

    By on

For years, I tried to bring my outdoor, street cat inside the house. However, she wouldn’t use the litter box. I bought this box in hopes it would be more I accessible for her. Within two days of keeping her confined to my office, she used the pan without incident. I also put a regular box next to it, but she always went for the KittyGoHere box. I also combined the litter with some of the dirt from outside where she used to “go.” It’s been three weeks, and she has the run of the house and uses her KittyGoHere box without incident.

Your senior cat will thank you!

    By on

As a senior myself, I know how hard it is to walk up stairs. Thus when I saw this "lower to the ground" litter box, I figured it was just what Charlie needed. We got Charlie 16 years ago and he was estimated to be 1-2 years old at that time. So I purchased this "lower to the ground" litter box and it is so easy for Charlie to get in and out of. A happy cat makes for a happy household. Everyone with a senior cat or one with physical ailments should consider buying one, too. Your cat will thank you.

    Great for seniors

    By on

My old arthritic guy loves this. As you can imagine, it is easier for them to kick litter out of the box, so I have an old blanket under it to catch the excess. I expected that, and it's worth it to make it easier for my old guy to get in and out. What I did not expect is that it's harder to clean. The rounded edges and low front make it a bit more difficult to scoop. I would absolutely buy it again, just be prepared to scoop differently.

    Answered Our Prayers Litter Pan!!!

    By on

Our beautiful Birman boy, is now suffering from Ataxia which causes him to lose control of his hind legs. He had an extremely difficult time using the regular litter pan. I found this on Chewy and it's a dream come true! Ty can now access the pan with not much difficulty at all. He even seems happier! The pan is made from a very great gauged plastic as well! My husband I recommend this product to anyone who has senior cats and great for kittens too! Now we can breathe a sigh of relief! Plus once I ordered I received the pan the very next day!! Thank you Chewy!!!!!!

Great litter box for all ages!

    By on

As a vet tech I see cats with litter box issues all the time. I have 6 cats over the age of 11 and I needed a litter box that was large and low sided. I ordered this box thinking it was kind of expensive but needed one that was just right. My cats LOVE it. One cat has bad arthritis and I try to make it so she has low steps for everything. She LOVES it and no cover which is great as cats hate hooded boxes. Please know I have no association with chewy other then a customer and this review is genuine. I will be ordering a few more of these for my house!

    purr-fect for your aging cat

    By on

tried and tried to help our elder statesman with a litter pan which would accommodate not only his size but the fact he is terribly arthritic....this worked out very well and there have been no accidents outside the box....the only problem we have encountered is finding the correct size litter liners so we have been using drawstring trash bags -which are a little big for the box but work perfectly well ( and are a lot less expensive than litter liners) josh and i say thank you! problem solved

    Great for Seniors!

Our 17 year old cat doesn’t like change but she is using this box. I also bought Hyaluronic Acid for her arthritis and she is doing things she hasn’t done in a while. We started noticing a difference in about 2 days. This product is amazing!

    Hard to clean

    By on

This litter box works very well for my diabetic cat whose back legs are partially paralyzed by neuropathy, but everything sticks to the sides and bottom of the box and sets up like cement. I have to dig it out with a knife and then wipe the area down. Over the years I have had many litter boxes and have usually replaced old ones when the pee and poop started sticking to the bottom or sides like cement. However, this one is new and also cost $45, so I think it has to stay awhile. Very disappointed, though, that it is so hard to clean but glad it works for my poor Clover cat.

    Great product!

This is an absolutely wonderful litter box. My newest foster has a broken pelvis and is on strict cage rest. He wouldn’t use a litter box at the vet, he came to me and used this right away!
