What treats fit in here?
Answer by ChewyOct 12, 2018
A link to all compatible KONG treats is provided at the end of the product description. I've included an image for reference.

Have there been any instances of dogs getting their tongues stuck in the slits/openings where the treat comes out?
Answer by ChewyNov 28, 2017
These toys are very durable but as with any pet toy, always supervise your pet while playing.

what size is the opening on both the large & small toy ?
Answer by ChewyFeb 15, 2018
The Mike's durable, hollow-core construction, and two cross-cut holes allows it to be stuffed with dog treats or food. The opening is about 1 inch.

What is this made of... plastic or rubber?
Answer by ChewySep 22, 2019
The KONG rubber toys are made from a proprietary blend of non-vulcanized, non-toxic natural rubber that's made in the USA.

Fell apart after one use

I have a Yorkie Who chewed through this toy after the first hour of use and broke off Plastic pieces. I really like the idea of this toy and my dog really enjoyed trying to get the treats out it kept her attention good but the materials used to make this toy were not strong enough and sustainable enough.

Tough Kong Toy

I received an orange version of this tough toy. It’s easily visible indoors and out. Haven’t decided what to stuff into it; small treats were not the best idea. Probably a chewy stick of some sort is the better choice. Small treats went in easily but my 50 lb dog couldn’t get them out.

Too hard to get treats

Too hard to get any treats out. The stick get into the middle and get gross! And he chewed part of the end off. I just saw long large assuming they were same material but it says large but only up to 40lbs.

Didn't Last

I got this for my German shorthair pointer who is 1 year old. Granted he goes through "long lasting" bones in record speed, always less that 3 hours IF that. He has other kongs that have lasted through several dogs, being in the sun, and are still just fine. This one, because of the shape and that he could get his teeth and a grip, he starting shredding this within 15 minutes of having it! He was just breaking off pieces of it and then I had to throw it away. It was a big waste of money considering I bought the treats to go inside of it and now they are pointless. Although my dog is a chewer, which I am aware of, he has never ate a shoe, the couch, or anything he wasn't supposed to. I try to keep lots of chewable toys around for him, but I thought this would last ALOT longer.

This is a great toy

We have the original Kong. I got this because my dog needs a bit of stimulation and something that will take time. I can fit 4 of her treats in it and she has it for hours! She loves it. Great toy

Kong is the best

Our Dax absolutely loved getting his new toy! He is a Shepherd/Lab mix and is really rough on everything. Kong is about the only thing that he can't chew up. When he got his toy, he took it to everyone in the house to show them!

Challenging

My Westie loves puzzle/enrichment toys, but sometimes they are just too easy for her. This one is much more challenging and she really needs to work to free the kibbles/treats inside. It’s super cute to watch her flinging it around! Holds up well.

not worth it

We ordered two different shapes of the "Kong Genius" toys for our 2yr old GWP. We have multiple traditional Kongs that are still in perfect conditions two years later, but thought the different shapes, and the fact that they can connect, would give our pup some more brain stimulation. But after giving it to him for 5 minutes both had already started breaking and falling apart. After a little inspection I realized they are not the same type of rubber as traditional Kongs. Significantly more brittle and broke into chunks that, of course, my pup instantly swallowed. I'd stay away from this series of Kong if you have a medium size or bigger dog.

Not strong enough texture

After about 10 minutes she chewed a piece of this off and I HAD TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM HER. I CAN'T SEEM to find any toys strong enough that she won't chew through. She is a 6yr old pit bull. I'm spending a lot of money on toys that have to be thrown out after 15 minutes or so, including the KONG TOUGH TOYS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR NON-CHEWABLE PIT BULL TOYS?

Not a good Kong

Purchased this for my dog thinking it would be great since it is a "Kong". Needless to say, she started tearing it apart on the edges and ended up with a bunch of pieces all over the house. I've purchased other "Kong" toys and they have lasted a lot longer than this one. Not one I would recommend.
