The seat belt is fully adjustable so that you can set as your requirements and the dog is able to lie down and sit.

If I want my dog in the middle seat, could I anchor each of the tethers on one of the car seat latches on either side of the middle seat?

The KONG Ultimate Safety Tether Dog Seat Belt can only be used with the 3 point LATCH System. You would need to check your specific vehicle to see if your car has a designated middle seat LATCH System.

Fits MOST dogs Not ALL

The harness system is very sturdy and heavier than I thought it would. I have a 2018 Subaru Outback and it was easy to install it. I definitely think you should

The harness system is very sturdy and heavier than I thought it would. I have a 2018 Subaru Outback and it was easy to install it. I definitely think you should purchase a harness to go with it. It got 4 stars not 5 stars because I can't really fault the product. I have very big dogs. 100 lbs and 110 lbs. They are not overweight just big dogs. They have been trained to lay down with a vehicle is in motion and this just did not seem to work for them. There is no way that I would be able to put both dogs in the backseat together. I would say the caveat should be "Fits Most Dogs" not all dogs. Maybe if there was a way to tether it to the anchors for the seats so that I could fold the seat down and secure them. For now I will have to stick with d clamps and short leashes to secure them. I think it is a great product for small to large size but giant size - nope.

I was very impressed with the sturdiness of this tether and the ease of installation. You simply clip it to the child's safety seat clips in your car and you're good to go. Easy peasy! The tether is adjustable however, I was not able to adjust it enough to make it flush with the back of my seat, even though I attached it over the headrest, as instructed. I Love the idea of the product but would love to see a tether that is adjustable for smaller cars. We have two small shih tzus, one is 8 pounds and the other is 14 pounds and I'm concerned that they could get their heads stuck behind the straps. Otherwise, I highly recommend this product, as long as it fits your car properly!

Not a good fit for my pup

I'm sure this is a great solution for some people. For me it was a bit of a headache. I thought I could use this in the front passenger seat, but that's not an option

I'm sure this is a great solution for some people. For me it was a bit of a headache. I thought I could use this in the front passenger seat, but that's not an option. When I realized this, I tried to set it up in the back seat but the instructions were confusing until I realized the latches it needs to connect to are hidden in the seat backing on my car. Once I finally had it set up I still needed to put in my dog's car seat because she's too short to see out the window without it, and this was a pain to adjust since her car seat has a high back. When that was finally adjusted, I remembered why I don't put my dog in the back seat which is because she tries to scratch her way through the door (which she doesn't do in the front). All of this is not the product's fault (except it would be nice if it came with more clear instructions) but it did not fit my specific needs.

The only hiccup is in older vehicles where you don't have all the baby seat hookups it is more difficult to secure the harness to the seat. Or if you happen to have a vehicle with no back seat it's difficult to secure the harness to a front seat.

Keeps the pups safe

These keep our pups from running all over the back seat, front seat and jumping out the windows. So much safer! The latches on our minivan seats are a bit lower

The latches on our minivan seats are a bit lower than what they show in the manual so we had to make a cushion for them to sit up higher in the seat for this to fit comfortably. They are well made with heavy duty clasps.
