About Kurgo Gear
Kurgo believes that your dog deserves to go everywhere you go, safely and comfortably. Way back in the early 2000s, before dog travel gear was a thing, Kurgo set out to solve a problem: how to keep the family dog from jumping in the front seat of the car. After lots of brainstorming and prototypes, their Backseat Barrier was born. Twenty plus years later, they’re still finding new ways for you and your dog to go together in confidence.
It says x-small to medium. This is not true a small dog barely fits. The snap is too heavy for a small neck and the lead twist and tightens as the dog moves. Not a good product for my dog and not worth the money. No return label. Hope my dog doesn’t grow much.
This is a great travel seat. My dog can sit up high to see out the window or curl up and sleep. The only thing I will change is the hook/clamp that holds his harness. He’s a small/medium dog and the clamp is for a massive dog.
I bought this two months ago, and now that my puppy is big enough to use it, I'm disappointed. When I set it up, it collapses back down. Her weight isn't enough to make it stay fully expanded like in the picture; instead it's flat and almost the same as her riding on the actual seat of the car. I guess because I purchased it in December, now in February I don't see a button for returning it.
I like this seat as it lets the pup be up front while keeping her safe and not too distracting for the driver. She does not like the short teather.
My 5 1/2 month old Scottie use cry in the car. Is that I purchased this seat he is so much more happier!! It adjust so he can look out the window. This has made him relax. I highly recommend!!
I've had this now for almost 3 months and it's holding up great so far!. I feel like my mini schnauzer is safe and she love looking out if the window or curling up for a nap on a trip! Would highly recommend for small dogs or puppies. My girl weighs 8.5lbs and has plenty of room.
My miniature schnauzer loves being able to ride up front with me and I love not having her jump around. Because she is a bit wiggly it is sometimes difficult to hook her harness, but that is her not the seat. The seat is well made and I like being able to wash the liner.
Good construction. Appears to have been improved, from previous model. Your pet is now hooked directly to the seats frame, rather than the car's seatbelt.
This booster seat is pretty sweet. I was skeptical but after one ride , my Dachshund loved it. The height can be adjusted which is the beauty of it. It has some cushioning which seems to be comfy for my lil guy. I would have liked and extra layer of cushion around the edge of the seat where the the metal frame is but I can add a little more myself. I did put a small baby blanket inside the bottom of it the first time I used it to make it more inviting. It prob wasn’t needed, but he liked it so much that I left it. Now he can sit higher up and look out the front window as well as get the fresh air from the side window. He can get his head out the window but is secure with the tethered latch. He lays his head on the edge of the booster seat and can see everything. He looks out the window without straining his legs to see. You wouldn’t think it, but he has plenty of room to reposition himself as well, which is a plus. Purchase it, you won’t be disappointed! :-)
I knew we needed a safe, secure way for our corgi Emma to ride in the car, so I bought this thinking she would like to be able to see out the window, too. But it's so cozy that on most rides, she just falls asleep! Emma is currently 8 months and about 17 lbs. I don't know if this will still work for her when she's fully grown, but currently she can curl up in it like a little kitty. It feels very sturdy and secure, and the fleece lining seems comfortable for her. My only real concern is that she likes to chew and she's making a good effort to chew through the strap that secures her harness to the seatbelt.
