Feeding Instructions

Serving Suggestions if Fed as a Nutritious Treat

Reward your feathered friend any time you want. Bird lovers often give 2 or 3 cakes whenever they feel the urge to spoil their buddies!

Serving Suggestions if Fed as a Full and Nutritious Diet

it is important for your bird's sense of well being and comfort to have food in his dish at all times. Place enough Avi-Cakes in the dish as you estimate your bird will eat without wasting too much. If the dish is emptied, refill as needed. Because birds love variety, we recommend feeding your bird fresh fruits and vegetables as 20% of his total diet.

Transition Instructions

Simply start by adding 2 or 3 Avi-Cakes to his food dish. Slowly increase the amount of Avi-Cakes at the same time you decrease the current diet. Sometimes tearing the Avi-Cakes into smaller bite size pieces during this transition helps.

    Displeased

By ParrotLover on Nov 28, 2020

I am very displeased with the Avi-Cakes. My Parrots do love them, but if some is left in the bowl, extra put out for nibbling later, or the bag is not sealed tight, the molasses mixture that binds the seed Very quickly drys outs, disintegrats and leaves a dried clump of seed that my Paroots refuse to eat.

    Picky MaCaw

By Pinky on Nov 22, 2020

My neighbor has a picky eater. She had been trying unsuccessfully to buy a macaw food that her birds would like. We decided to try these avi-cakes. The bird loves this food. She is actually trying to reach out through the cage to grab the bag and pull it into her cage. Finally got some things she will eat.

    OLD & STALE

By Parrot on Sep 29, 2020

So disappointing for CHEWY, I have never had a bad experience with all the food and items that I have purchased from them until I got these Avi-cakes and the fruit Avi-cakes too. They just crumble in your hands. Hopefully this was just a one off.

    Great treat for any bird

    By Lily0sandy on Jul 6, 2020

Great treat to play hide and seek for my Lily (cockatoo). I put a bit in different toys. Once she finds it, she makes a little saying “What ya doing “ then makes a laughing sound. She is proud acting when she is eating her treat. Lily is only 5 years old. She is learning new things and vocabulary is getting better. Lily is picking up some words I do not want her to repeat. It is like kids, if you do not want them to say, YOU should not repeat. We love her any way.

    Cockatoo loves them

By Sande on Apr 18, 2020

Luis loves these so much that when he sees me getting one out of the bag he starts dancing and if I forget to give him one before he goes to bed at night he will start squawking and I’ll have to put it in his food tray so he can eat it as a midnight snack!!
