I have been buying Avicakes for years, both the 12 oz & 1#. I got the 1 pound size & these are the freshest Avicakes my birds have had in a long time.
Total waste of money. These are not for large birds. The seeds & grains they are made with are too small for them to eat. My Macaw & Cockatoo just broke them up & dropped them on the cage floor or threw them out of the cage. Wound up feeding them to the squirrels & outdoor birds. Never again !
My bird loves these. But honestly, now that they are twice the price, I probably won't be purchasing these in the future
This became a wonderful treat for my bird. The texture is great and is very tasteful with the different flavors.
Tried the large avi cakes for my Bare Eye Cockatoo Cossi, she loved the moist squares in fact I'll be reordering those Avi cakes for large Parrots.
If you really want to treat your bird with something that is good for them then get these! They not only have what your bird needs, but your bird will love them!
I am a B&G macaw. I love love love this new food. Give it a try. Although my sister who is a Scarlet will not eat it. Leaves more for me!
I am very displeased with the Avi-Cakes. My Parrots do love them, but if some is left in the bowl, extra put out for nibbling later, or the bag is not sealed tight, the molasses mixture that binds the seed Very quickly drys outs, disintegrats and leaves a dried clump of seed that my Paroots refuse to eat.
My neighbor has a picky eater. She had been trying unsuccessfully to buy a macaw food that her birds would like. We decided to try these avi-cakes. The bird loves this food. She is actually trying to reach out through the cage to grab the bag and pull it into her cage. Finally got some things she will eat.
Hopper the double yellow parrot really likes these when a break them into bite size. They are soft enough for me to easily do that.
