Guinea pig loves it
Mango, my guinea pig, seems to love this - he likes the "Herbi Balls" recipe mix from the back of the package of 2 parts supplement mixed with one part water. He is geriatric, so glad to know he is getting some extra nutrition.
picky bun prefers this to other brands
My bun had a pretty intense tooth trim a couple of weeks ago and she didn’t want to eat afterward. I was instructed by her vet to syringe feed her for the first couple of days if she refused food. I’ve tried Oxbow Critical Care with her in the past and it was a nightmare because she hates it. I had to force feed her and we both ended up wearing about as much as I actually got down her. I bought some of this the last time she was off food, but didn’t end up needing it because she improved. So, this go around I mixed some of this up and she lapped it up right off of a plate! She won’t eat Critical Care even when she feels good, so that’s pretty amazing. She was still refusing hay after almost a week, so they weighed her at the follow up appointment to make sure she was maintaining weight, and she had only lost about 2 ounces, which they were impressed with. Come to find out, she was just being a brat, and would have rather continued to eat this than start eating hay again. Haha. I will always keep a bag of this on hand, just in case there is any need for it in the future. She’s back on hay with no problems now.

My pigs won’t eat anything but emeraid when they need support feed. They love it and it works amazingly
Yummy Stuff
A medical issue caused me to drop some weight, and I needed special food to help me get healthy again. I tried all three flavors of The Other More Famous Brand and found them all to be, well, yucky. Luckily for me, my veterinarian had picked up a sample of Emeraid at a conference. When my owner explained that I simply had no interest in The Other Brand, he gave me this to try. WOW! What a difference! Much, much better. I am sreadily regaining my weight and I look forward eagerly to my special meals. My owner says that I will always be getting at least one small meal a day from now on. I am fine with that. Hearing that I will be eating Emeraid forever gives me happy feet! Boink boink boink boink, JuHuu!!!
Not for Squirrels
This has mint in it, I did not realize this. Squirrels hate mint so can't use it. Too bad.
Smells Better and Finer Powder
I bought this to see if my medical guinea pig would eat this on his own than syringe feed the other brand. I think he knew what it was and didn't care for it. My other piggy thats not sick loved this and would beg me to give him some when he saw me make it. I'd only give him a little pea size to please his craving. The powder is fine and a little goes a long way, I felt. It smells like mint. Overall, I'd buy again to keep in my first aid kit.
Rabbit Loves this food-Bandit Approved
This is the only one of the emergency care food Our Rabbit Bandit loves, he will come and sit by my feet while I am mixing it for him and he perks up when he smells it. He will happily take it from the syringe until is is all gone. I love there is 5 fun ways to feed this great food. For us making it into a cookie dough consistency and roll it into small bite size balls to have in the feeding bowl and Bandit feeds on it at will. The other brands he doesn't favor or eat in the cookie dough balls, This Lafeber ErmerAid Sustain Recovery Food has saved his life. He is a Senior Rabbit He will be 9 years old in June 2022, He went off his food including his hay and became so very thin, my vet did Dental surgery, he had his 2 week check up and stitches removed, they said he is recovery very well and headed in the right direction, he will soon be back on his pellets and is starting to eat his hay. The vet is pleased with his outcome. I am so happy I decided to try this recovery food. serving it in the small bite size balls has helped with the in-between syringe feedings and is so convenient to use.
Great product!
After my bunny was injured by a dog, we had to syringe feed her. She HATED the first formula our vet recommended. We were then told about this one. She loves it! Feeding went from a horrible chore to fun again. Even though she's out of the woods, she still loves it. I bought through Chewy because the product was not available locally and was hard to find online. For a animal in critical condition (giant C1 fracture and could drop dead with the wrong movement), I was very annoyed that our first order a week to arrive and a time when we needed it NOW. 4 stars because of this.

Sustain Herbivore Recovery has been a godsend for our senior bunny Vader, Who has MegaColon. She loves the taste and texture of the treats we make from it and it has definitely improved her digestive health. Cannot recommend this product enough!
