Feeding Instructions

2 1/4 parts powder to 1 part hot water (110 degrees). Mix thoroughly, product will be at a pudding - like consistency. Do not reuse mixed formula. Discard and prepare fresh at each feeding.

Transition Instructions

At appropriate age, begin offering 'solid' foods such as soaked pellets and sprouted seeds. Increase every few days the amount of 'solid' food while decreasing formula. Begin adding non-soaked pellets until bird is on full solid diet consisting of pellets, Nutri-Berries, Pellet-Berries, or Avi-Cakes. Watch for weaning resistance, and in that event, continue until bird is readily accepting new foods. Weigh bird daily, any weight loss of 10% is of concern, and formula should be offered immediately, resuming 'solid' diet as necessary.

  • Love this stuff

    By on

I've been using this for years! It's a great product for all kinds of birds including finches. Since it is rice based instead of wheat like most it doesn't sour like others can if the crop doesn't empty fast enough. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram at Tiny Song Aviary to see how we use it.

Birds didn't like, even 2 weeks old they plain refused to eat. Switched back,to Kaylee one they loved it. Went crazy much better success rate very well excepted. They liked the avi cakes but not the pellets or,the formula, and dont know, why

  • It's ok formula

    By on

I use this formula for hand feeding my gouldian finches, mixed with kaytee formula, otherwise the texture isn't smooth...and I don't want to chock my birds.

  • Poor packaging and product expiration too soon

    By on

Only issue is that I’d have to use it within 2 months because it expires so soon
