How do clean this feeder? Do you take it apart to clean it?

Little Giant hanging metal poultry feeders can be cleaned by removing the clips and rods that hold the pan onto the feeder tube. You can also purchase the cover separately to help prevent debris falling into the feeder tube.

It came without a handle, called Chewy knowing they would offer a free replacement. I figured that was a little wasteful because all we needed was the handle, so Chewy gave the number to the manufacture and said call back if it didn't work out. Called the manufacture, and a few days later a handled showed up in the mail. The entire experience made me happy even know it came incomplete. Love doing business with companies that are easy and good to work with. And it's a great feeder.

I like the easy fill concept. The chickens enjoy it. The chickens also will jump on top. The 4 star rating is because there is no top cover. I use a glass pie plate

Better Than the Plastic Ones

Our old plastic one had a tab break, so it no longer would stay connected to the feeder, and we would find the food spilled everywhere. It was hard to find a metal

Our old plastic one had a tab break, so it no longer would stay connected to the feeder, and we would find the food spilled everywhere. It was hard to find a metal one in a smaller size, but I found this one! My only complaint is that the metal tabs were hard to pull off to put it together. And the little metal rods that stick out really hurt and scratch your legs when you're holding the feeder down at your side carrying it. Other than that, a metal feeder is much better than the plastic ones.

Parts Missing

The hanging handles were missing for all 5 feeders purchased. We were not able to have just the handles shipped to us. We needed to get a return label and send them

I needed a good big chicken feeder for my meat chick's I got this and a cheeper plastic one to. I wish I would of just went a head and got 2 of these. Way more sturdy

Metal pieces getting into food.

My daughter noticed metal coming off and getting into the chicken food. She thought it was mold at first and then realized it was little metal pieces coming off

made in USA, great for pellet food

Had to replace a different feeder that somehow broke down pellet type food. This feeder works great. I wish there was some sort of a cover, but not a game changer
