First impressions

This idea and system are good value for the money. Normally, people would complain about a one gallon, telling you to get at least a 5 gallon tank, that is unnecessary

This idea and system are good value for the money. Normally, people would complain about a one gallon, telling you to get at least a 5 gallon tank, that is unnecessary. There are 1/2 and 3/4 gallon kits for Betta, I would not recommend going that low in water, yet since this is over 1 gallon that is adequate. Use a turkey baster for extra cleaning. I especially use them on my 5 and 10 gallon tanks. The baster was originally recommended to us by a one-time owner of Dolphin Aquarium in Campbell, CA by the name of Brenda, over 50 years ago.

I’ve only had this tank set up for a few weeks, but I can tell it’s not going to stay as clean as advertised. The waste products are supposed to sink through the tiny holes in the bottom, then be sucked out when you drain some water out. Much of the waste does not pass through the holes. In addition, the water doesn’t drain out as efficiently as it should. You need to add extra water to the tank in order for enough of the dirty water to drain.
