Ferrets of all ages should have food and fresh water available at all times.
Young Ferrets (6 - 11 weeks old): It is important at this age to sufficiently moisten the diet for your young ferret. Mix 3 parts warm fresh water to 1 part Marshall Diet (3:1 ration). Allow the mixture to sit for 3 - 5 minutes. Add more Marshall Diet or water until it reaches a wet oatmeal consistency. Keep some dry diet available at this age so your ferret will adjust to a completely dry diet by the time it is 12 - 13 weeks of age.
Adolescent and Adult ferrets (12 weeks and older): By now, your ferret should have converted to the dry diet. Keep fresh water and Marshal Diet available at all times.

Never ever feed Marshall Ferret food to ferrets. Ferrets Are Obligate Carnivores which means ONLY Meat, there are certain foods that are reasonably priced and much better for ferrets. When picking a kibble for your ferret, find a cat food with the first 5 ingredients being meat based, try to avoid peas, lentils, and fruit. These will lead to expensive vet bills down the road. Ferrets are highly intelligent and extremely personable pets, so you want to treat them right, not like a “rodent”. If you can’t afford to feed raw, I recommend a mixture of Wysong digestive support(ferret food) and Orijen Regional Red(Cat food)/ or Oxbow Ferret food. There are great groups to be apart of that will help you to treat your ferret right. I hope this helps!
Now, Marshall’s is terrible for ferrets so I can’t give a very high review, unfortunately it’s all the rescue ferrets eat. Also highly expensive but regardless. I do enjoy Chewie’s shipping though, because the food came with a toy for little Ms. Toast!
So honestly, I want to switch due to the high pricing each time. But due to my ol' lady. I can't. She has insulinoma & can't handle switching in this age. Due to it affecting her levels, movements, etc. Plus, she's a Marshall's ferret, so she's imprinted on this food. This is getting more and more expensive each time. It's getting ridiculous. My hands are tied.
Every month, this food keeps getting more expensive to where I'm paying over $50 every time I need it shipped. This is really ridiculous considering the first time I ordered. It was under $35. I'm not going to be buying this again. For $50, I'd recommend getting a higher quality food for your little buddies. Either that or they lower the price again.
