Is this rake good for a shih tzu poodle mix? His hair is straight but the white part of his coat feels like cotton and matts up very easily. His collar makes matts!

This grooming tool is suitable for all coat types.
Is it sharp? Will it actually slice through the Matt’s? My dog is old and I need something that will cut the fur more than pull.

Amazing Tool, best of 5 we tried

We tried 5 different grooming/dematting tools for our dog. She's a doodle with thick, curly fur, and it's hard to keep her fur brushed out. This one is amazing. The real deal. My dog doesn't mind it very much, it doesn't pull/snag/get stuck, it moves through her fur, is easy to hold, and can get out the toughest mats. Highly, highly recommend.

WOW, under coat fixer!

We’re experienced pet owners but new to the Labradoodle breed (needed a hypoallergenic dog) and didn’t understand the multiple layers of fur. This helps keep them fluffy, removes all the grass and gets the base hair out. I wish I’d understood the importance of this tool earlier! It’s a must for a doodle parent. Start using after a groom when the hair is shorter, it makes it painless. We alternate between this and a slicker brush every other day. We have a tight curl coated boy and a crazy wavy coat girl. This is the BOMB! Way nicer than the other two I bought that became chew toys.

do NOT recommend

My previous, very old, and dull demattting rake still works better than this one?!?!?!? I was surprised and very disappointed. Have to keep looking now.

amazing tool!

I don't necessarily understand the mechanics behind the teeth, and don't want to test for myself how sharp they may be lol, but I feel more secure handling this one and the kitties don't mind at all!

great for bloomers

I have a long haired GSD so brushing his bloomers has always been a challenge. This tool works great for that. Even thought it is a "debater" for long, corse, thick hair it works great to thin out and detangle and brush.

Fantastic tool for a Golden

This tool is fantastic for my English cream retriever. It fluffs up the fur on her hind legs and gets out all of the matted fur she creates from swimming. I also like the way the handle is attached. It makes it easier to brush her from any angle.

Great for my Great Pyreneese knots

This brush will do the hard work of getting some really bad knots out of your dogs hair. Our Great Pyrenees didn’t complain either when I was brushing him with it. Overall, tough, good brush that is pretty sharp, but it will do the work.
