Our sweet 16-year-old dog, Leela, has been declining the past few years. She has a heart murmur and congestive heart failure as well as liver and thyroid issues, but until the past week, she's been fairly active and happy. For the past six months, she became very finicky and started skipping meals. Per the vet, I switched up Leela's food options in order to get her to eat whatever...as long as she would eat. Consistently, Leela has eaten these treats when she wouldn't touch her Wellness, Farmer's Dog, FreshPet, Stella and Chewy, and a half dozen other selections. These treats don't seem to have a smell and also seem too hard. I didn't realize until after I ordered these that they come in a smaller size. To help Leela, I would use a hammer on a paper plate to break up each treat into smaller pieces. Leela is going to have to be euthanized in the next day or two, but I know these treats helped extend Leela's life because there were times she would only eat these and nothing else.

My dog will actually eat these!!

My dog is very picky and won’t usually eat any dry/cookie type treat. But now we’re fighting kidney disease so she can’t have the jerky’s and high protein/phosphorous

My pup(s) love them

Bought the prescription ones for my old pup that had kidney disease that had since passed, she hated them wouldn't touch. My new rescue pup is now on Kidney food

Bought the prescription ones for my old pup that had kidney disease that had since passed, she hated them wouldn't touch. My new rescue pup is now on Kidney food and I thought to try the Perscription ones again, again refused to eat. I stumbled across these and figured I would give them a try. First they smell like Saltine crackers, my dogs like crackers. I offered these treats up to my dog with kidney issues and my other dog. Both dogs loved the treats. I was taken a back by the simple ingredients and how much my pups loved them. We have been going on roughly a month and my pups still like them. I ended up buying more directly from the vendor, found it to be cheaper. Buy 2 boxes shipping is free. Their shipping isn't as fast. But they have a subscription service. I am thinking on replacing all the dog biscuits with these for both dogs kidney dog and non kidney dog.

He spit them out

Wonder has just been put on a renal diet but he, who never turned down a piece of food, wouldn’t have anything to do with Mattie’s treats, even when I covered them

Wonder has just been put on a renal diet but he, who never turned down a piece of food, wouldn’t have anything to do with Mattie’s treats, even when I covered them with peanut butter. I made him treats that I found in a kidney diet book and he thought they were super, and he has gobbled down every vegetable I fixed for him. But he wouldn’t touch these. Now I have two unopened boxes to dispose of. <sigh>

Perfect bites and dogs approve

My dogs are medium sized and really love the bigger sized treats. It’s a healthier option for them, so I don’t feel too bad about giving them 2.

Happy pup- broken bones

The dog enjoyed these and they are healthy for her aging kidneys but most of the bones arrived broken and were in little pieces.

So far so good

I got these for my baby girl who’s on a strict diet as precaution for having high protein in her urine. These are the only treats that say they are renal friendly

I got these for my baby girl who’s on a strict diet as precaution for having high protein in her urine. These are the only treats that say they are renal friendly. She likes them which is good that she can still be apart of treat time with the other pups. I’ll update in a few months when her labs come back to see if these helped lower the protein levels
