Our 2-year-old cat is on Epakitin for kidney failure. He will not eat wet food. We have been giving it mixed with water by syringe, but he hates that. He is good with capsules. Can we put it in capsules for administration?
Answer by • Jul 02, 2019
Epakitin needs to be in contact with the food for it to work. If the pet refuses to eat if it is mixed with the food, then the owner can mix the Epakitin with water in a small syringe and squirt it down the throat immediately after they eat. They will need to shake the syringe vigorously because Epakitin will not go into solution. It will only be a suspension and will settle out again.
Why do the different sizes of this product have different nutritional levels?
Answer by • Oct 09, 2018
The nutritional level on the 300 gram size is different because it's based on scoop size and the scoop in that bottle is bigger. The 60 and 180 grams features a 1 gram scoop. The 300 gram features a 2.5 gram scoop.
Any idea how long a 60 gram bottle lasts at 1 level scoop twice daily as directed on the bottle?
Answer by • Mar 13, 2019
If you're feeding 1 gram a day with 60 grams in a bottle, it'll last 60 days.
I know it says to give twice a day, in the morning, and in the evening.....but exactly how far apart should the two doses be given? No sooner then how many hours? But preferably no more then how many hours?
Answer by • Jul 12, 2022
The instructions are based on most pets being fed every 12 hours or morning and evening. If your pet needs 2 scoops per day and you feed twice a day, then 1 scoop on each meal. If you feed 4 meals a day then you would put ½ scoop per meal.
