Weruva Wx Phos Focused

The Weruva Wx formula has low levels of phosphorous without sacrificing protein content or quality. It offers highly bioavailable proteins for optimal digestion and good amino acid absorption to help maintain muscle mass.

Why Seek Lower Phosphorous Formulas?

As kidney health declines, the kidneys filter blood less efficiently, and phosphorous may enter the blood stream, creating new health issues. A diet with lower phosphorous, although it will not cure kidney issues, can help minimize these other ailments.

Weruva’s Lowest Phosphorous Foods

This low-phosphorous food is all natural and free of ingredients like powdered cellulose, fillers and carbohydrates that can superficially lower phosphorous percentages. Weruva Wx contains up to 50% less phosphorus than AAFCO’s minimum levels.

No Protein Sacrifice

Cats are obligate carnivores who need meat to thrive. Because maintaining muscle mass is crucial for cats with kidney issues, Weruva makes sure their Wx formula includes plenty of high-quality protein.

About Weruva

Weruva is a family company, wholly owned and operated by pet parents David and Stacie Forman since 2006. They originally developed Weruva, a luxurious natural pet food, for their three rescued cats: Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa.

Great nutrition for a kidney diet, but the darn cat doesn't like this!

I adopted a special needs cat, 12 1/2 year-old Chewy, who has stage 2 kidney disease, almost no teeth, and occasional spinal pain. He won't eat the prescription canned kidney diet (his previous owner gave me 1/2 a case), so I've been searching for low phosphorus, lower protein soft food he WILL eat. I had great hopes for this stuff!

Cats appreciate that this food is closest to a home cooked meal! They love this one and the chicken and gravy! It didn't take long to adjust to it from their previous food either! one great thing I noticed too is their bowe movements are less frequent and smaller which means this food has very little fillers and is packed with better protein sources so that is great! I've paired this up with forza10 urinary and it is working good so far.

Great option with low phosphorous

This is super helpful for all of my cats. I noticed elevated kidney levels with one cat, and another had elevated creatinine levels. I discovered the dry cat food I was feeding had very high phosphorous, which can be extremely harmful to an aging cat. This canned option is a huge hit with my 3 cats. The also like the all chicken flavor, but they vomited a couple times, so the blend is great for them, as it controls the vomiting nicely. I add a little bit of warm water to this (it already has a gravy base), and they love it and it seems very satisfying for them all. Great product!

My cat won't eat it

This seems like good food for my cat, but he doesn't like it and won't eat it. My other cat will eat it, but he's not the one with the urinary diet needs.

Kidney cat actually likes it!

My kidney kitty hasn’t been enjoying his prescription wet kidney food. It was expensive anyway, so we thought we’d give this a try instead and he loves it! I love

Very appealing to a finicky senior

Squeaky goes through periods where she wouldn't eat the wet foods I usually provide. Tried this on a whim and she devoured it every time !
