Weruva Wx Phos Focused

The Weruva Wx formula has low levels of phosphorous without sacrificing protein content or quality. It offers highly bioavailable proteins for optimal digestion and good amino acid absorption to help maintain muscle mass.

Why Seek Lower Phosphorous Formulas?

As kidney health declines, the kidneys filter blood less efficiently, and phosphorous may enter the blood stream, creating new health issues. A diet with lower phosphorous, although it will not cure kidney issues, can help minimize these other ailments.

Weruva’s Lowest Phosphorous Foods

This low-phosphorous food is all natural and free of ingredients like powdered cellulose, fillers and carbohydrates that can superficially lower phosphorous percentages. Weruva Wx contains up to 50% less phosphorus than AAFCO’s minimum levels.

In the process of trying to find foods that will help reduce the load on senior cat kidneys. Two of my four are officially diagnosed with CKD. Ingredients are good, phos and sodium levels are great....but unfortunately the cats don't seem to enjoy this food and often leave portions of it uneaten, and one of my cats will not touch it at all.

CKD kitty on supplements and wet food only getting syringe fed

Our disabled kitty was diagnosed with early stage CKD and is on wet food only. This food is perfect to go directly into syringes, no blender required so whenever we travel I can just pack a few cans and the syringes. It also smells less pungent than many other specialty foods and when I have left overs it always finds takers in the remaining crew. Tilapia and Mackerel seem to go down well with our clowder. The other WERUVA options are a tad outside our budget but this is a total win for us so far. Our CKD girl is still around almost 2 years later and we had tried more expensive specialty foods that were a bigger waste! This food seem to do the trick and works!

Moisture-rich pate

My cat loves this food! She mainly eats Purina ProPlan 11+ wet food, but I add this for extra moisture. Now she waits for me to add this to her bowl.
