Let’s be honest, these are not gourmet treats. However, my dog eats them happily, which is impressive given that they contain exactly zero excitement. She has a liver shunt and strict dietary needs, and these treats are safe, crunchy, and reliable. They are a rare find for dogs who can’t indulge in typical treats, and for that alone they earn five stars.

My dog just turned 15 and has been diagnosed with kidney failure. These were the only kidney disease diet treats I could find. Levi is extremely picky about his treats, so I figured he wouldn't like them. He absolutely loves them! My other dog likes them too, so I buy them for both of them.

I know younger pets can get kidney disease but theajority of pets getting kidney disease are seniors. These treats are hard to break and hard to chew for older pets. Especially if they have fewer teeth or just don't have the jaw strength to crunch these treats down. I wish they made this in an even smaller size or a soft treat. My dog went through one box but when I bought the second box, he does not prefer them any longer because he is tired of trying to chew them and often spits them out. I even break the treat into smaller pieces and he doesn't /can't chew it up.

I am happy to have a treat option for my dog who has renal dysplasia and needs a special diet. He doesn’t go crazy for them, but he does gobble them up when given, so I am assuming they are tasty enough. I also think he likes these little bites compared to the bigger ones.

My dog needs low protein, low phosphorus treats for kidney issues. These treats were made for dogs like him. Made with quality ingredients, taste good to him, and also smell good to me. When was the last time a dog treat smelled like something you wouldn't mind eating? I'm glad to have found these because there's not a lot out there for dogs with these issues. Thanks, Mattie! Your legacy lives on, being good to other dogs.

Yummy kidney treats

All the dogs like these! They are very plain (low salt, low phos, etc). But even the non-kidney patient dogs thinks they are yummy! Also perfect small size.

Hit Or Miss

I am grateful there is a low phosphorous treat for my dog to eat (I hope one day there will also be one for cats) but it is hit or miss if he will eat them or not

I am grateful there is a low phosphorous treat for my dog to eat (I hope one day there will also be one for cats) but it is hit or miss if he will eat them or not. Sometimes he will eat them, other times he leaves them. I do commend the makers of this product for offering a low phosphorous treat for dogs like mine who have kidney disease.

Kidney Disease Friendly!!!

We were so happy to find a ready-made treat that was approved by our vet. Our poor boy’s diet was suddenly overhauled when he was diagnosed with canine kidney disease

We were so happy to find a ready-made treat that was approved by our vet. Our poor boy’s diet was suddenly overhauled when he was diagnosed with canine kidney disease and that left us with almost no quick reward options, as nearly all commercially available treats had too much protein. We are so thankful for Mattie’s family who ran into the same issue after their diagnosis and were able to get this product out to share with other pet parents struggling to navigate a low-protein diet for their pups. Milo loves the treats and it’s so nice to have something quick and easy for walks and training.

Very expensive

My dog isn't crazy about these treats, but she will eat them every once in a while.
