Hi - this product is closer to dust rather than crumbles and my alpacas won't eat it
My older llamas love the crumbles. They no longer can chew my sweet feed.
We switched from the alpaca Care pellets to the crumbles. The Care pellets work better than the combined llama/alpaca feed, but my girls were still having some digestion issues. The crumbles seem to have taken care of that. I was a little skeptical because they look like dust but the girls love them and their bellies aren't getting upset. Very happy.
I have some very picky alpacas and everyone of them will eat this. I had a few problems with choke using the pellets, so switched to the crumbles. Never had a problem with it being too dusty. Highly recommend.
I have a small herd of fiber boys, and some of them are quite old and have dental issues. After having several chokes on pellets in my “retirement” pen, I decided to get a few bags of crumbles. These are the only grain type supplement that I use now for the oldsters!
We have used several Mazuri products in the past, usually pellets but also crumbles. I regret buying 3 bags of the crumbles this time because a LOT of the crumbles are dust. We mixed it with the pellets, without even looking, as the product is one we have used and trusted. The alpacas won’t even eat it. There is a layer of dust in the bottom of their feeders every morning. Back to the pellets for us.
