Questions & Answers

6 Customer Questions

how quickly will the 25lb bag spoil?
Answer by ChewyMar 29, 2020
An unopened bag of food will last until the expiration date stamped on the bag. Ideally, dry food and treats should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location.

About how much molasses is in these pellets, and how much pellets is safe for a rabbit a day?
Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2020
Due to the pet food industry being a very competitive business, companies want to keep their recipes proprietary at the risk of them being copied by others, the amount of molasses within the recipe, is considered proprietary to the manufacturer. Feed free choice to rabbits, along with plenty of fresh, clean water. Supplemental food items may be provided, but should not make up more than 10% of the total diet. Care should be taken to choose appropriate supplemental food items. For example, mature or elderly rabbits may benefit from supplemental food items with lower calcium and protein (e.g., grass hay). Growing, gestating, and lactating animals may benefit from food items with higher calcium and protein (e.g., alfalfa hay). Rabbits maintained in breeding colonies with high rates of breeding may benefit from a diet with enhanced energy density.

Is this suitable for young rabbits (2 months old)?
Answer by ChewyOct 22, 2020
This diet is formulated to meet the nutritional requirements of rabbits during all life stages.

can you feed this food to a guinea pig
Answer by ChewyApr 12, 2020

Great adult food

Good Timothy food for adults. I use for my buns above 6 months. For lactating does I mix half and half of the alfalfa pellet. Mazuri leaves coats shiny and lush and happy healthy bunnies!

Mazuri Rabbit Food

If you own a rabbit you need to try this rabbit food. My rabbit has been using this product for a long time and her coat is always soft and shiny. When you read the ingredients you will see that is better than all the others.

Bunny Love

I have 4 bunnies and they are kind of particular on what they eat. Mazuri Timothy -Based rabbit food is the best. My rabbits really enjoy this feed. I know it isn't for all rabbits and owners but my rabbits are healthy with great fur and digestion. No problems. Fantastic product as I am concerned.

My Bunny LOVES These Pellets!

My regular brand was out of stock so I gave this brand a try. My bunny actually like this brand better and clinks the bowl if I am late with them. I like the very detailed nutritional breakdown on the package.
