Although glucosamine and chondroitin are not recognized as essential nutrients by the AAFCO Dog Nutrient Profiles, Merrick does include them in the Guaranteed Analysis for each food recipe. Glucosamine is a molecule synthesized from sugars and amino acids. It is a component of joint and intestinal tissue and is involved in the production of synovial fluid, which lubricates the joints.

Waiting to see

Wanted to give fur babies a good-balanced dry food as I prepare their wet food . Hoping they will take to this not only because of the price but because of its ingredients. Integrating it with their previous Natures Balance Venison, Duck and Sweet Potato kibble (which I have had to grind up a bit because of its size) and they are eating around the dry food. Weather-wise, I prefer to feed them dry when the temperature rises and fingers crossed after all the brands I looked at and read the reviews of, this will be a positive purchase.

Pleased since switching

I have been buying Merrick for the last six months. I had been buying the kibble with the freeze dried dust which he loved then accidentally ordered the kibble with the freeze dried pieces. For some reason this did not agree with my pups digestive system. After reading many reviews I tried this one and so far success! He has been on it about three weeks and his stool and stomach are finally acting normal. Very grateful for those who took the time to review this food. The Lamb flavor is light years better for him than the freeze dried salmon was.

My 3 do great on it

Our 2 Aussies and GSD seem to like the taste & smell of it.....good solid poop....itching/biting/scratching seems to have gone away on the GSD and I actually bought this because of gastro issues on our female Aussie who recently finished chemo treatments---"time" and this Limited Ingredient kibble has helped get her back to normal.....IMO Merrick has always been a solid choice...so no surprises in this bag....

Love the Taste

My dog has allergies. I’ve had a difficult time finding food that doesn’t contain ingredients that cause him a reaction. And that he will eat. This food has been a life saver. He loves the taste and his scratching and licking has been sporadic depending on environmental allergens.

Great Made in USA product

I got this gluten free dog food because my 8 yr. Old Schnauzer rescue was having acid reflux & her tummy was gurgling all the time. After a few days on Merrick she was doing great! No throw up, no acid reflux, & no stomach issues! She started wanting to eat again! Yeah!

Finally!! We found the right food

We have a 2.5 yr old EB and up until now, every food we tried she had allergic reactions. Hair loss, hot spots, yeast infections, worse breathing problems, gagging, congestion. She was started on the expensive Royal Canin which gave her very loose stools and had become harder to find in the Adult version. She didn't like it either. We have gone through every kind of meat/grain/grain free form of kibble and finally got this Real Lamb Sweet Potato and all allergy reactions have ceased. We are hopeful this continues because she actually likes this brand too, which has been a huge issue with all the other kinds. Hopefully this will be the one and only longer term use will tell.
