For dogs over 100 lbs., add 1/4 can for each additional 10 lbs. Adjust feeding level to your dog's individual needs. Cover and refrigerate unused portions. Keep fresh water available at all times. If feeding with dry food, reduce wet amount by 6 oz. for every 1/2 cup of dry food.
Over the course of 5-7 days, mix the Merrick food with your pet's current food, continuously increasing the amount of the Merrick while decreasing the amount of the current diet.
The food looks ok and smells ok but my dog wouldn't eat it even when very hungry. Expensive food, big waste of money.
My shih tzu's have a variety of issues to include food allergies and stomach issues. Two are puppy mill rescues and trying to get their gut flora in check has been a chore. This food doesn't upset any of the pups tummies or cause allergy issues for the 3rd pup who is not a rescue. They actually are eager to eat it daily and so far we haven't had issues with them growing tired of their meals. I rotate out chicken for breakfast and turkey for dinner with dinner to include the limited ingredient dried kibble. I have thrown away lots of dollars trying to find food that they will stick with and eat since they are picky eaters and I'm happy that this one has been working out for a couple of months now.
Love the ingredients and my dog always loves to eat this food but it has been giving her literally explosive diarrhea so not buying anymore
This food is so firm, smells great "not like FISH", no diarrhea, so far the best!
I was spending a fortune on Hill special diet for my dog because it was the only thing that didn't upset his stomach. The Hills is a prescription product and was almost $60.00 a case of 12 cans. This Merrick had limited ingredients so I thought I would try it. Well glad I did because it seems to be fine. Also, I did some research and Merrick is a very good name in pet food. Merrick dog food workes well for me and saves me a lot of money too. I'm feeding a male black Lab so they eat lot! If your dog has digestive issues it is worth your time and money to try this Merrick dog food.
My pittie seemed to like it and the best part is I believe it is helping with any loose stools he sometimes has.
Our dogs started out liking this but no longer. The last can did not agree with our 3yr old Shih Tzu and the younger one wouldn't touch it. I can't recommend it base on our experience. Our dogs are rather picky and somewhat proned to upset tummies.
It's really nice when you can find a dog food that both of your dogs like! Plus this has been rated highly by a reputable dog food advisory group! Our dogs have done well on it! No complaints here!
I have to watch my pups diet & this food is great for that & he loves it.when you open the can of chicken,it smells like roasted chicken.
From your description of this food, my hope was that my four dogs would like this food. They love this food and can’t wait for me to put their bowls down. You can’t go wrong with the Merrick brand.
