No. None of Merrick Pet Care's recipes are being recalled.
What is the difference between Merrick grain-based and grain-free foods?
Some pets develop food intolerances or food allergies and grains can be difficult for a pet's stomach and intestines to break down. If your pet has a sensitive stomach, our Grain Free recipes can help their digestive system problems. At Merrick, our Grain Free recipes feature higher levels of proteins, omegas, glucosamine and chondroitin.
Do Merrick’s Grain Free recipes contain fillers and chemicals?
We are committed to using only the purest ingredients in our recipes. Our recipes contain no ingredients from China; no poultry by-products; no artificial additives or preservatives; no artificial flavors or colors; no corn, wheat or soy; and no glutens. We've excluded these ingredients because we believe pet food should be fuel, not filler.

Merrick has changed!!!!!!!
By TMc1 on Nov 29, 2020
My cats use to love Merrick pate can food but Merrick is changing the food and moving to aluminium cans. The food was solid meat in the steel cans but now its watered down and mushy. Really looks like gridded up chicken bologna. The quality of Beef Bistro, and Kitten has dropped a considerable amount and cats are eating less. Sometimes they smell the food and walk off. The feedback for both versions are piggybacking of the steel can version of the food, so only trust recent postings.. Beef Bistro changed first so I started trying other versions of Merrick through my local Petmart. My boys liked Kitten and Chicken in the steel cans, so I order a case of Kitten from Chewy. wanted this to work!
By Matilda on Nov 14, 2020
Unfortunately, neither my litter of foster kittens nor nosy adult cats will touch Merrick’s kitten pate. I really wanted this to work! I’m trying to mix with other food so it doesn’t go to waste.

leaky kitty poops
By Nico on Aug 28, 2020
I’m on a budget but I’m always trying to give my kitten the best and most ethical food possible. When a pet store employee recommended this I thought I’d give it a shot. My kitty tried her best to eat it but I could tell she didn’t like it as much as her other food. It unfortunately made her poop way stinkier and leakier than I’d have preferred :/ I was also disappointed to find out it was made by purina. The consistency of the food is unimpressive too, and there are weird tiny chips in the pate. It’s a no from us

No longer a fan
By Rayven on Jul 8, 2020
My cats used to LOVE this food. They are no longer kittens but the vet said they could continue eating it since it has good nutritional value and is for "all life stages". They have been eating it for 4 years and are happy and healthy! However, Merrick recently made a change to the actual can and minor ingredient changes..the consistency is completely mush. Not a paté at all. And it seems like less is in the can as well. My cats don't like it any longer, so I'm switching brands completely since I'm afraid Merrick will be making these "minor" adjustments to all of their products.

My cats miss this food
By Big3 on May 30, 2020
The shelter I fostered my kittens from gave me this to feed them, so when I made it official I kept buying it for them and they loved it. I transitioned them to adult food a few months ago and am still working on finding a flavor they like as much. The other day I found a case of kitten food that had been shoved behind something else so I put it in rotation and they were SO happy that their favorite was back. I'm assuming that it has more calories and they shouldn't be eating it now that they're fully grown (especially since one is already starting to chonk out) but I'm sad that they so obviously love this more than their adult food. Same goes for the dry, btw. Loved the kitten food, often The shelter I fostered my kittens from gave me this to feed them, so when I made it official I kept buying it for them and they loved it. My kitten only wants this food
By Stacy on Jun 17, 2020
I have a 10-week-old kitten who’s been eating Merrick since I found him last month. I decided to try Blue Wilderness, since it’s less expensive, but he’s not impressed. I went back to the Merrick and he scarfed it down. He’s in great shape; his coat is soft and shiny, and he’s in his healthy weight range. Looks like this is his food from now on!
