Been buying Merrick, all flavors for quite some time, but lately feel I have to make a change in the canned cat food. The chicken doesn't smell anything like chicken or even food. The turkey has hard lumps in it that I feel I have to chop up. I want quality cat food that smells flavorful, at least to some extent. Otherwise, you're wondering what's in it and why it smells the way it does. In comparison, I fed the kitties another brand for a different meal, chicken also, and what a difference. That difference is what I will be switching to.
I ordered Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain-Free Chicken Pate Canned Cat Food when Chewy ran out of another brand I I was feeding. I was looking for 3rd brand as a substitute for Tiny Tiger in my cat's food variety rotation. I won't order this again over other brands that are just as healthy, because Merrick isn't superior, it just costs more. All I want is to feed chicken, grain-free wet food. The reason I feed multiple, rotating brands is because foods are sometimes not in stock or no longer being made and because animals get brand burn out. Coaxing a finicky cat to eat when they are sick and won't, is not something I want to do, again. I learned the hard way. I don't let my animals get food stuck. So, yes, she likes this recipe. But it's not any healthier than many other grain-free, canned chicken options. So, considering Merrick's high price and comparable quality to others, I will move on.
My kitties are going through finicky stage again or, wondering if Merrick has a change of recipe on this like the turkey LIT did? They used to eat it when offered now its a toss up. Thinking I need to find a new pate.
My senior cat with weight issues seemed to like the first few cans of this so I ordered more from Chewy. Now he doesn't seem to like it. I have an ongoing issue trying to find a food he likes. Other cats may like it but sadly mine didn't.
My 14 1/2 year old cat loves the Merrick wet cat food. Chicken and turkey are his favorites. We have tried other brands, but he likes the Merrick the best.
I had never tried any products from the Merrick brand until now. My cat is a very picky eater, so I usually only feed her the dry food she likes. I started out by giving her half of the can. Surprisingly, she ate it up instantly until her plate was empty. This proved she liked it, so I gave her the rest of the can. After she finished, she began rubbing up to me at my ankles. She meowed a few times, which gave me the impression that she wanted more. At that moment, I wish I had more because she never asks for much. I appreciate that this is high in protein. I do not like that it has a high calorie count. Because of this, I will only serve it as an occasional special treat.
Chicken pate is usually a pretty safe bet for the two cats in my house that will actually eat wet food, but they can be pretty picky. The can is pretty small, so I only gave it to my youngest cat. She seemed to like it. I like that it is grain free and high in protein. My only issue is that this is a bit more expensive than I’d like (especially with having multiple cats to feed). If I do end up repurchasing, I’d go with the bigger cans. I received the small can for free in exchange for my honest review.
I have been using this food for years. all of my 6 cats love it, good ingredients, however this year the price has gone way up, so I'm probably going to start switching them to Dave's, it is good quality and much more reasonably priced.
Our kitty Mittens enjoyed this treat! She gets sick off certain brands so I was hesitant to give this to her but she really enjoyed it and seemed to keep it down. I was given this product as a sample to review, but I would purchase this for her so she could have it as a treat every once in a while.
This is a product I would not gave bought on my own. I recieved it as a free sample to review. It's great that wholesome produ ts for pets exist. I gave this to only one of my cats because the other will only eat dry car food. It was a nice treat for her and she was really excited. she ate it up! She didn't vomit so I would say it is a win. I would buy this occasionally as a treat for her. I don't really feed her wet food, and due to cost I would not make a switch to this brand for our dry food.
