MidWest Cozy Crates

A Cozy Crate for Every Home

As instinctual den animals, it's important for dogs to have a comfy place to nest. Crates also help with potty training and reducing habits like chewing or barking, while providing a safe, den-like home for your fur baby. MidWest designs their crates with safety, security and comfort as their priority. No matter the age of your dog, you're sure to find the right fit for your unique pal.

Convenience and Comfort, All in One

For a lightweight crate that requires no tools, folds flat, and still has the security of heavy-duty slide-bolt latches, look no further than the MidWest iCrate. It’s made for easygoing dogs and even comes with a divider panel so it can grow with your pup. Pair that with a removable, ease-to-clean plastic pan, sturdy carrying handle, and surface protective rubber feet to create the recipe for a crate made just for your dog.

A Crate for All LifeStages

Made with heavy-gauge steel and wire mesh, MidWest's Life Stages is a sturdy cage that can offer extra security. Rubber rollers protect your floors while a sturdy carrying handle makes it easy to move before your pal gets in. With rounded corners to protect your dog, slide bolt latches to keep him safely inside, and a divider panel that can be moved—and removed as your pup grows—it's a crate for all life stages.

Secure, Sturdy and Safe

For optimal security and safety, the Ultima Pro is MidWest's most durable crate, made of professional-gauge steel designed to stand up to chewers and stronger dogs. The dual door access allows your dog to enter and exit on either side—but only when you say so! Your dog will feel safe and cozy in this retreat, made just for those pups who need a little extra safekeeping.

How much does the Large crate weigh?

Answer by QueenBeeZJan 15, 2023
35 pounds

What is the difference between the I crate and life stage crate by MidWest.

Answer by ChewyJan 18, 2018
Some iCrate Models (1518 - 1536) are narrower and lower than the Life Stages crates. The Wire Grid is closer together on the iCrate Models, while the Life Stages crate's Bars are closer together. If you're looking for a  lighter product, then the iCrate models are for you. If you prefer a stronger product and don't mind the extra weight, the Life Stages models are for you.

What are the weights of these crates? (I am particularly interested in size 24-inch). Thank you.

Answer by ChewyJan 16, 2018
The 22-inch crate weighs approximately 12 pounds, the 24-inch crate weighs approximately 18 pounds, the 30-inch crates weighs approximately 25 pounds, the 36-inch crates weighs approximately 33 pounds, the 42-inch crates weighs approximately 42 pounds, and the 48-inch crates weighs approximately 48 pounds.

What is the outter length and width of the 48-inch crate?

Answer by ChewyDec 12, 2017
The length of the 48 inch crate is 48 inches and the width is 30 inches.

I bought this in 2022 for my future puppy, and now have been able to start using it. I went to order a primo pad (IYKYK) and unfortunately the actual measurements of this crate don’t match any standard crate (or pad) sizes, so now I have to order custom. It was supposed to be 36”x23” but actually is 35”x22” It’s a solid crate otherwise but that’s annoying and I wish I knew sooner.

Item was exactly what it claimed to be.

I wasn’t expecting amazing, nor did I get it. I received an entirely serviceable dog crate at a reasonable price. Exactly what I ordered. ; )

Some of the reviews online of this crate were mixed and mentioned sharp edges, bent wires, broken pieces etc. so I was worried when mine showed up and the box looked a bit like it had been re-taped several times. However inside everything was perfect. It was super easy to set up and after using it for the last two weeks with my new puppy I can confidently recommend this crate. My pup is only about 7 lbs so far so we have the divider in and it is perfect for her She has just enough room to be comfy with her stuffy and blanket that the breeder sent with her. The rubber pieces on the bottom fit around the bottom wire and make it nonskid but they pivot around the wire so it is also easy to roll around on hard floors. Although it is large and kind of heavy I can still move it from room to room so she gets used to sleeping in different spots and knows wherever her crate is, she is safe. I'm very happy with it.

Well made

For the price I was impressed by the quality. No sharp edges, there’s tension on the doors so the metal doesn’t clank and startle my puppy. Would recommend.

Chewy always get a 5 star. The crate is a nice heavy duty one. Has some rust on the bars and under all the clips. As always Chewy was willing to make it right, but I asked if they would just talk to the company. A new crate shouldn't have any rust. I needed it in use.

We hate products that say "easy assembly" -- but aren't!! This one is easy and has decent directions.

Sturdy and safe. We like it so much that this is our 2nd purchase, so that our dog can have an additional safe space on another floor. Our dog is an adult, but I appreciate that it has an adjustable panel that allows you to create a smaller space- great idea if you have a growing puppy.
