I was going to return these but my two large boys LOVE them. My reservations: - the padding is thin (not a big deal) -the cover is not dense at all and I doubt it will withstand machine washing if soiled. One cat went after the sewn tag and pulled some threads in seconds (I removed the tag and he has not scratched at it again). One big positive is the cover has a zipper so I can reuse the self warming insede pad, which is noisless, if the cover is damaged and use it somewhere else. I think senior pets will benefit a lot from this self warming item, with an additional pad underneath. I have mixed feelings about these but the cats made the final decision this time.

Mixed reviews. I washed the covers immediately and hung inside pads outside to air out for a day to get rid of chemical smell. The feral cats seem to like them

Mixed reviews. I washed the covers immediately and hung inside pads outside to air out for a day to get rid of chemical smell. The feral cats seem to like them. They are outside and pads fit nicely in their shelters. Roxi, my inside cat avoids it. Maybe she tried it when I wasn’t watching and got too warm? I keep my house warmer than most people. She may like it better in the summertime when I have the AC on!

This is a great product for indoor cats. Without any electricity it warms quickly but never overheats. The very soft, removable cover is easily cleaned and dries quickly. I haven’t put it in the washer but have spot washed an occasional throw-up and it looks like new. The cats love it. I have 2, one on the bed and one on a cat post by a window. At least one of the mats is always in use.

I bought 2 different brands of self-warming mats, intending both for my 16-year-old. I put one on the couch & one on my bed. The older cat uses the one on the couch

I bought 2 different brands of self-warming mats, intending both for my 16-year-old. I put one on the couch & one on my bed. The older cat uses the one on the couch (not this product), but it's my younger cat that claimed this one as hers. As you know, cats are territorial! So no preference from my point of view -- both brands seem equally good. Both of my cats like them.
