so disappointed as Chewy normally does not make mistakes in packing. In addition to this bag of seeds, I ordered 2 heavy deer food blocks. Someone that it was a good idea to pack the seeds at the bottom and put 30 lbs on top of it. when i opened it, the wildlife seed bag was torn open and everything was a MESS!

I live next to a large city park, and there is a family of squirrels who live in the trees along the property line. While I've successfully squirrel-proofed my hanging bird feeders, they've been drinking from my deck rail-mounted bird bath. My cats absolutely love this, so I decided I should offer the squirrels food too, especially if they're going to be on the deck anyway. I used to have a neighbor who fed the squirrels regularly until he passed away, so I figure it can't do much harm if I start feeding them myself. I picked this mix mostly for the price; it's not the cheapest squirrel-targeted feed Chewy sells, but it's still quite affordable. The squirrels seem to like it; if I throw it on the ground, they eat every morsel. I put it in a window-mounted platform feeder near the bird bath, but so far they have been too intimidated by the cats to eat from it. This week, a Steller's Jay, one of my favorite birds, has started eating at the feeder when the cats are napping. It LOVES the corn. This morning I watched it gobble nearly a dozen pieces. I'm so excited to have this beautiful bird right outside my window! That all said, I can't give it five stars. There's debris in the bag -- a short twig, a couple corncob ends, and a lot of dust -- and hardly any peanuts, like there might be 20 peanuts in the entire 10 lb bag, which seems really sparse. I'm going to try at least one other squirrel food mix before I buy this one again.

Ingredients. I should have read the label.

Mostly corn. The price should have raised flags. My fault. Didn't read ingredient label.

Quality and quantity value

I have been trying many different brands and mixes of bird see for quality and value. This one checked both boxes.

When shipment arrived the bag was broken open and seed was loose in bottom of baobab. There was also a squirrel corn holder in the shipment that was loose not wrapped in anyway which I am sure was cause of two bags being broken open. Have never had a problem with shipments arriving intact. Thought you would like to know.
