I have been feeding birds and squirrels with the sunflower kernels for years now, and that is always 100% cleaned up. I tried this mix and the few peanuts and sunflowers were eaten (and the shells left behind), but the corn was completely ignored. Even the raccoons that will usually check out the area after dark to see it anything is left (usually not) would not touch the corn. Sticking with the unmessy and popular sunflowers I guess
This was gobbled up very quickly. The birds, squirrels, chipmunks they all enjoyed it . Way to much corn in the bag and after a couple of feedings they didn't eat it anymore, so now I have a lot of corn in the feeding area that goes uneaten. They all love the peanuts and that is the first thing that get's eaten quickly. If there was more peanuts and less corn that would be great
Blue Jays, Doves, and Cardinals as well as squirrels and wild rabbits all clean up all the food when I put it out for them. Anyone who enjoys watching birds and other wildlife can't go wrong using this food as a supplement to other wild bird foods.
I definitely LOVE Chewy, & decided to buy some feed thru them....So I purchased this product for the yard squirrels, hoping it would limit their intake of sunflowers seed (costly), but as it turned out, they did not & especially would not eat the cracked corn kernels, that I always believed they liked. As a matter of fact, unfortunately no birds did either. So for me, this was not a good purchase money-wise, kind off wasted my money -
A ton of food for the price! The animals are waiting in the trees for me, way more variety then the stuff I was buying previously. Both have/had quite a bit of corn, but they will finish the corn off eventually. They love the whole peanuts, seeds, and apple smell. Would definitely recommend!
When I put this mix out I expected it to be very popular but it took a while for them to try the corn. Peanuts and sunflower seed are always a hit. Now there’s nothing left at the end of the day.
The little squirrel outside my living room window loves this. I need to get it a feeder though to keep the Blue Jays away from it.
The blend is good for the deer, but squirrels are not fans. The premium mix works better for squirrels so I may buy both and mix the two.
i did not have high hopes for this, but i was desperate, b/c the squirrels need to gnaw, and they had started on my house after they got bored with the fence. even though its mostly corn, with just a few nuts, somehow it keeps them entertained for hours on end. the first day they ignored it, but after that they keep returning to it. and someone overnight finishes up the corn--maybe deer, idk.
Squirrels absolutely love these. I have several dishes of food and these peanuts I put out daily and if I’m not on schedule all of the squirrels sit just outside my fence and start chirping. There are three new litters, about 13 babies, that are starting to explore. The mamas and papas stuff 4-5 peanuts in their cheeks and scurry to their nests. There are about 30 teens and six sets of parents. With the peanuts, critter feed, fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of water my yard is a great place to relax. Also have rabbits and birds in and out all day and evening.
