Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

First off, this toy is TINY (3 3/4 inches), but then I have a tiny Chihuahua puppy. He picks it up and carries it around and he's under 1 pound. My other dog is a "Jug", weighing 23lbs, and he loves these things. He hasn't destroyed a single one yet. I also bought him bigger sizes that "honk" instead of squeak. They have NO stuffing. On a side note, my Jack/Pug mix hates loud noises so he would cry when he squeaked the toy, I altered these by puncturing the squeaker with a small pair of scissors. I was careful not to rip the latex. Also, someone mentioned that it ripped as soon as they got it and said it has two plastic pieces attatching it to cardboard. It did have that coming out of the plastic bag, to avoid this, cut the plastic things off with scissors rather than ripping it away like a neanderthal. For the people wondering about color variations, Chewy cares about little things like this and (though they can't guarentee it) twice I've ordered products that "vary" in color and design and I've gotten different colors. I got these in 3 different colors and I ordered 4. Another thing people are asking about is "How many do you get?". You get one for the price listed, they show more to show the different colors, I imagine. However I ordered 4 because there was a sale at the time for buy 3 get a 4th free. Hope this helps!
Initially this piglet was AWESOME! At first glance, I thought it was too big for my 12lb pup, but she proved me wrong and had a blast barking at it and showing it who was the boss. When she bit it or pounced onto it, it made piggy-like grunts that added to the fun factor. She’s not super rough with her toys and has a LOT of them, yet after a few play sessions with this pig, it no longer makes any grunts nor any sounds at all. What a bummer. I cannot see anything wrong with it nor is there a hole or nothing “loose” rattling inside it, but the cool grunts are gone. Now it’s just any other quiet toy. (boring) Would consider trying again if Chewy wants to send a replacement. If not, so be it.
This grunting pig is my dog's favorite toy. He loves it even more than his beloved collection of balls. He eventually chews through because the latex is VERY thin; but he tries to be very gentle and they generally last for a while before I have to replace it due to a missing tail or foot. Here is the issue. I've probably bought about ten of these and have taken seven of them out of the packing. Of the seven, three didn't work. One "screamed" instead of "grunted" and scared my dog to death - it was definitely a defect - like a high-pitch scream. One grunted for about a day and then just didn't grunt any more - the latex was fully intact. The other one seemed overstuffed with air or something and simply didn't grunt. With those odds, I figure at least one of the remaining toys won't grunt and, believe me, the grunting is the whole point. Despite the unpredictable quality, I'd still recommend it because you have not witnessed JOY until you give a new one to your dog after the first one stopped working. It's fair to say that it took awhile for Jack to warm up to it, but he fell in love pretty quickly. If I could count on the quality, I'd give this toy 30 stars. Make sure you keep a backup handy.
My old lab mix has been obsessed with this pig since we first encountered it at swim classes. They have hundreds of toys, and he will only play with this one. He watches it float away and cries. Without fail, each time we go back, he buries his head in the bin until he finds it. He’s obsessed. I saw it at the grocery store yesterday and could NOT wait to give it to him. I knew he’d freak out. I set my bag down while I put away groceries and come back to find that he’s burrowed it out of my purse (never happens). I unwrap it to give it him and his teeth are chattering, he’s drooling. It’s his favorite toy ever.
My pittbull bull mastiff mix loves these pigs. He takes one of them every where. I have bought him so many expensive "tough or chew resistant" toys that last days at most. He now has 4 of these pigs and they are all in great condition even after weeks of play. The noise is a low grunt which I greatly prefer over the high squeaky toys. I will definitely buy more if they ever do break. They are so worth every penny.
My dog would have loved these. They are really cute and the colors I got were cute except they've got little tiny spikes on them! She won't pick them up in her mouth ! I've never heard of a pig having spikes on them. Disappointed
I have a four year old Jack Russell who absolutely loves these little pigs. She has a huge amount of toys but still prefers the pigs. Two years ago we got an Airedale who loves to steal the pigs from the Jack Russell. It drives her nuts. So I bought a large quantity of these pigs in every available color and threw them on the floor in the middle of the living room. My jack Russell was in heaven but as soon as the aierdale came in, he would take away any pig that she would pick up. Then she would just grab another one and start playing with it and he would come and take that one. These are very popular around my house. I guess I’ll have to get about a dozen more!!!
My dog usually destroys toys instantly. He loves the honk of the pig. It lasted much longer than other toys before he was able to tear into the rubber. Will be buying again!
I knew when I added this to my cart it wasn’t going to last with our toy destructive Pittie girl. But man does she love this toy. It’s the most amazing 30 minutes of her day. I only order it every couple of months but the tail wagging joy she has as she destroys it is worth the few bucks every now and then.
be sure to watch out that your dog doesn't tear through the rubber. The pigs are stuffed with batting and the squeaker broke pretty quickly. Anyway, they are worth the few bucks.
