My older dog (~55 pounds, now 15 years old) was having some mobility issues in her hips and low back along with muscle loss. After doing physical therapy for several months, the therapist suggested trying MYOS to help regain and maintain her muscle. We eventually stopped the therapy exercises and started giving MYOS powder. Our regular vet was impressed with how much muscle she regained and was maintaining just from that. She now recommends it to other clients and said she's seen similar results for their dogs as well. While therapy exercises are always a great way to address muscle loss issues, this stuff has been a great boost to support that process even more and give our "old lady dog" a better quality of life. I highly recommend it.
Our veterinarian recommended this for my pit mix after she got surgery for a luxating patella (trick knee) on one of her rear legs, and she absolutely loves it. After we rescued a lab mix whose legs were a bit bowed from genetic hip dysplasia, I started giving some to him too, and I noticed a HUGE difference within just a few weeks in his activity levels. He runs, jumps, climbs onto the couch, and is so much more playful than he ever was before. I only took one star off because this stuff is pretty pricey, especially when you have large breeds like I do and go through it quickly, but it's honestly worth its weight in gold for the difference it's made to my dogs and the quality of their lives.
This was recommended to me by a friend who also had a German Shepherd with back end issues. I do feel it helped him. Didn’t cure it but has helped
My dog is 16 yo at least, a rescue. Showing signs of dementia, maybe degenerative myelopathy for the last 8 months. This formula has given her some muscle strength again, and she is able to get up by herself without a struggle or my help. I do believe some quality of life has been regained thanks to this supplement.
We have a 13 1/2 year old lab who has neurological issues and his back legs lost muscle mass due to long term prescribed prednisone. His back paws curl under and he hops due to hip and spine issues. It is so sad. I looked and asked for help and found MYOS. I tried it and it has helped him build muscle, especially in the front of his body to help him "walk". I told my vet about it. She has observed his "improvement" and strength and now tells other patients about it. It truly has helped him. I have told others about it.
I’ve only been using this on my 15 year old doxie mix for about a month. I rescued him last summer. He’s not great with supplements mixed in his food so I don’t even add the recommended amount. He’s eating it just fine though so I may increase based on the results we are getting. My sister saw him Sunday and said, “What’s up with Mickey. He’s jumping around!”. He has never jumped up on the couch by himself and since he’s a long backed dog I’ve been ok with that. But now I leave the room and come back and he’s jumped up on the couch! I’m so impressed that I’m ordering a similar product for myself as I was very sick for a long time and lost a lot of muscle mass!
I had high hopes this could help my girls muscle loss. After a week I could see she wasn’t feeling well. This probably works great with some dogs but not if they have underlying conditions
I have a 12 year old Aussie with significant muscle atrophy in his hind end. My vet recommended to try this to rebuild some muscle. Even though he's on 4 scoops a day and he's almost finished a month of treatment, there has been no change in his condition. It is easy to feed and he loves the taste but given the cost for a 60 pound dog and no improvement, I won't order more.
This was the 2nd time I've purchased MYOS. My 13 1/2 year old boy continues to amaze me by now wanting to take longer walks and has even initiated playing again. He no longer shifts his footing as much when he is eating. He appears to be much more interested in going outside and a lot of things in general. The steps no longer seem to be as big of a problem for him. He has some of his old spring back in his step! Of course Chewy provides us with other products that help, but this has been a game changer. I know it will not take 10 years off his age, but it certainly is making a difference. Don't use if your dog is allergic to eggs...
Our 12 year old standard poodle has had 2 knee surgeries in his life. Last winter he blew a disc. He is now in a full body harness and can not get up on his own. He was so unstable that we envisioned putting him down soon. He began collapsing while pooping. We heard about Myos. He began gaining strength after 4-6 weeks of dosing. He is so much happier and engaged! He still needs help getting up, but he is so much stronger! This product is worth a try!
