How long should the cat be on it? Forever or just when I notice strain?

Answer by ChewyDec 06, 2020
For a small to medium size pet, the average use is 1-3 months and for a large breed dog or cat it is 3-6 months. The suggested timeframe is an average to help break down active stones but also for its potential preventative actions against future stone formation. Do not use this food topper for longer than 30 days without a 1 week break in usage before resuming treatment IF you are not using a Probiotic.

How many doses are in a container?

Answer by ChewyApr 27, 2024

My cat has only been on this for a week and already seeing improvements in her behavior and routine. She runs to the litter box a lot, vomits a lot. Already seeing a decrease in this and she is becoming a happier cat. Cant wait to see how things are after 3 months. My cat is very picky and hates when I try to put things on her food or in her mouth. I put this on a small amount of her food and she eats it right up. Then I give her thre rest of her food.

I like the loose powder because it’s easy to sprinkle on my cat’s food. That’s the only way I get him to take it. With the loose powder, I don’t have to bisect capsules and empty the contents . This herbal remedy does seem to help my Hector kitty who is prone to bladder stones and urinary issues in general. I give it every day (if I remember) sprinkled over tuna.

kind of disappointed

I bought this thinking that this was a version of 'break it up' that was just sans the capsules... which in a way it is, however the scoop provided doesn't come close to a serving size that is equal to the capsules as you can see in the provided photo. One would assume that with the scoop you are supposed to make it even to the top because otherwise they'd give you a larger/deeper scoop, right? Just in case anyone is wondering, the capsule amount is just a bit under 1/8 tsp, or if you have a set of: smidge, dash, pinch spoons, it's a well rounded pinch. I'm wondering why the scoop isn't an actual serving size like the capsule is... or does the capsule have a lot of filler in it? How the heck am I supposed to know which is the correct serving considering they both have the same ingredients and look exactly the same??

Works!!!

Using this and VetsBest Urinary supplement have stopped urinary blockages in 3 cats. They get the Urinary supplement twice daily in their food and the Stone breaker twice a day every other day. We know these 2 products work because we haven't had any blockage issues in 3 years. Prior to starting these products, 2 of the 3 cats would have blockages at least once a year requiring stay over at vets office with catheter and IV fluids. Would HIGHLY recommend these products!

I have a 7 year old male cat who has blocked up twice- unable to urinate and in severe pain. Two trips to the pet e.r.- we knew we had to try something. He’s been on this product for a few years now, and no more blockages. We do feed him a mostly wet food, strictly chicken, low ash diet. But it works!

I've been buying the capsules with this product and emptying it into food, so decided to try it loose. It's not easy to measure with the little scoop, but I have a pretty good idea how much a capsule holds. I think this will be more economical and it saves me a step.
