I have read distilled water is not good for cats because it is too acidic. This is distilled but says it is also Ph balanced? Confusing.
Answer by ChewyJul 18, 2021
CatWater is a natural spring water and therefore is chlorine-free. It is ozonated and has a mild level of acidity which encourages your cat to drink more. It is perfectly balanced with a pH level between 6.2 and 6.4 to meet the specific need of cats. In comparison, the water we drink everyday normally has a pH ranging between 7.2 and 7.8, which is too alkaline for cat needs. On the other hand, distilled water from the supermarket has an average pH of 5.4 which is too acidic for cats.

I have a fountain with a filter. Will the filter interfere with the benefits of the water? Should I use a plain bowl of I buy this water?
Answer by ChewyJul 05, 2021
CatWater may be used in a fountain.

Is this basically just distilled water?
Answer by ChewyMay 27, 2021
CatWater Urinary Formula is a distilled natural spring water, which means that it contains no minerals.

Is this water in BPA-free bottles?
Answer by ChewySep 08, 2021
The bottles used for CATWATER are eco-friendly. The bottle, handle and cap are made of PET plastic and are 100% recyclable. PET plastic does not lose any of its fundamental properties upon being recycled and it satisfies even the strictest hygiene regulations and requirements in the food, cosmetic and medical industries. PET 1 plastic is not manufactured from, nor does it contain BPA.

He Loves It!

We added 5 things to our 20 year olds daily routine over the past two years. We bought 2 double filtered fountains. We use CatWater. We give him 2 to 3 pouches of Purina Pro-Plan Hydra Care liquid supplement. We add in sensitive stomach wet food. And he is on thyroid medicine. The 1st 3 saw his water intake triple within the first few weeks.(as proven by the results in the litter boxes!) He is more loving and doing things he has not done for years. Plus small amounts of wet food 3 times a day and dry food available at all times. All that and his weight stays consistent right around 12lbs. All highly recommended.

Worth the price

Both of my cats immediately took to this water. I spent $1k on a shelter rescue with undiagnosed bladder issues. Compared to potential urinary issues, this water is worth the price!

helped with dehydration

My sister's elderly cat seemed dehydrated and this appeared to put some pep in his step! He seemed to be feeling a lot better afterward.

They love it

All four of my cats are drinking this and since the water bowls and waterers need to be refilled, I think this means they approve. My Shadow cat especially likes it in his new waterer.

Works For Me!

I will be upfront and honest and say I'm not sure if this truly benefits them - I have two boys and one girl, and I get this water to put in their fountain because I don't want to use tap and get hard water stains. I will say they drink a lot more water after switching to this and switching to the fountain - so it is an expense, but one that makes me feel better, and one they seem to like, so I will continue to purchase this brand.

Male cat UTI

We had to pay a 800.00 ER vet bill when our cat got really sick with a UTI. In a few days he got better. Within a month the symptoms returned, The Vet said another ER visit was required around 300. More Dillard.AllI wanted was his antibiotic refilled. Looked on chewy and found this water. He I’d better from the items we purchased at a fraction of the cost of another ER visit.

My cat sniffed this water and abruptly backed away from it. I kept trying to offer it to her but nope, she wasn't drinking it. I don't know what's in it that didn't pass the smell test, but it was a NO GO for her. Glad I only bought one, because she didn't even drink a bottle of it.

So my cat has urinary issues and I’ve seen his pee start turning blue in the Pretty Litter (not a good sign) so I thought this water may help him more instead of normal filter tap water. He uses a PetLibro Waterfall dish and I’ve never had a problem with it and he loves it. Today the water came in and I cleaned his water dish out really good. Went to work and came back to find this black algae like stuff on top as well as inside his water dish. This has never happened before and it’s our first day using this new water. I have no clue what it could be from other than the water, seeing that’s the only new thing and this being the first appearance of this black stuff. Any recommendations or explanations??

My cat is pretty picky

My 16 year old cat is pretty picky. She took a few licks from this water and just turned her head and hasn't touched it since. It does have somewhat of a scent to it. I thought she would like it but she doesn't like scents. Though she does like fresh water.
