This was the only wet food our 2 cats would eat for their entire 6 yrs until natural balance decided to change the formula and design of the actual cans. The consistency and oils are very noticeable and not good. There’s lots of dark almost fishlike junk at the bottom of each can as well. Considering the price has doubled in 2 years there’s no excuse for this and I’ve heard it’s not even made in Canada but now Thailand so it’s highly likely it’s not the same I ingredients or qualities. I am switching immediately and hope NB reads these negative reviews returns to Canada or at least truly uses actual original formula! We loved it, and now no more!
I had been buying this wet food for years. My cats will no longer eat this wet food. Not only did the look of the product change, but the formula changed and is no longer liked by my cats. I will request a refund.
It seems to be such a healthy product. I was hoping so much that my cats would like it, but not all of them do. My little girl cat eats it and enjoys it, but the boys will not. I have to continue to feed them grain, free, proplan, wet, cat food.
This is one of the few foods that goes well with my IBD cat so I use it for all my cats. I just wish that it could be consistently good. If I receive a good batch, my cats go crazy for it but every other batch seems to be dry, & a different color. I try to make the bad batches better by mixing in Stella’s and that helps. We’ve tried to switch to other brands but the IBD flare up is too bad so we end up staying with this one. Currently we’re on a good batch so here’s hoping the next one will be good too as my IBD cat’s heart disease has progressed and now has even less of an appetite.
In the 4 years I've had my cat, Natural Balance has changed their formula 3 times. It used to be Chicken with Green Pea and Chicken with Liver were the only wet foods my guy could eat without getting sick. Now he won't eat any of it. Even the stuff in the pouch makes him sick. Thanks Natural Balance.
I purchased this for six of our seniors (cat sanctuary) who are NOT already on a prescription food but have sensitive stomachs. This gave all six of them diarrhea, not once but each time they ate it. I’d give it to the ferals we feed but that doesn’t seem fair to them. Evidently we will be throwing it out. Maybe I got a bad batch? We won’t be throwing away money on this one again.
My not so picky cat won't eat this. Also, it has carreageenan and ingredients cats don't need in their diet.
My cats all refuse to eat this. Total bummer for how expensive it is.
My cat has an incredibly sensitive tummy and I've found that chicken is the only protein he can consume. The Natural Balance food has been excellent for him and has been worth it for us even with the high price. I will say it took him a while to get used to the pate texture but he now loves eating it.
