I've bought this food several times and all 3 of my cats love it. One of my cats is 18 years old, a lot of wet foods make him throw up, this one does not. It is great for cats with any sensitivities BUT the last time I purchased it the formula/ consistency is different. My cats are not thrilled, they don't scarf it down like they used to and I find myself throwing out leftovers. On the fence if I will repurchase. Disappointed.
My cats will not touch the new formula. I will have to donate most of what I bought and hope there is a cat out there somewhere that will eat this stuff. The old formula in the yellow can was a favorite of my cats for years. Natural Balance no longer for my cats. Change is not always for the better.
Bought an entire case (DO NOT DO THIS) for my 9-YO male cat recently diagnosed IBS … it’s DUCK, what cat wouldn’t love that, right?!? Well….. Not only does he want nothing to do with it, NONE of my cats will touch it. I’ve tried mixing it with some beef broth, chicken stock, even tuna fish… rejected all around. Major lesson learned: do not commit to an entire case after (much?!) trial and error.
This used to be the only wet food I could give my cat, he rejected everything else besides freshly grilled salmon (no joke). But they changed the formula when they changed the packaging and now he won’t eat. I’m so frustrated.
I am so disappointed. My two litter mate males are both allergic to chicken. The duck and green pea formula of this food they have been raised on is the yellow can WITHOUT the word "Indoor" on the label. "Indoor" showed up with the recipe change and now the label is orange and the food is full of tapioca starch and canola oil. The texture is more like mush than pate. Could not be more unhappy with this. One cat won't touch it now, and the other who will eat anything gets diarrhea. Picture is of the two different food labels. Really mad. Nothing natural about this one anymore.
Cat likes it and I’m happy to find a single protein source with no chicken or turkey.
Unfortunately, with the label change came a processing change. Cats do not like it now. Also noticed that the lid was difficult to remove.
My cat that may have IBD won't touch this food. I'm trying to feed it to my other cats and a few of them won't eat it either. Years ago I managed an IBD cat with Natural Balance venison food that I bought in 3 oz cans. I didn't see venison available at all, and had to buy this in 5.5 oz cans. Unless you know that your cat will eat this food I would not recommend buying a whole case. It would be nice if there was a case of different varieties of LID foods to trial, because IBD cats are often not eating well to begin with and it can be hard finding foods they will eat. My cat does eat the dry version of this duck food, but I don't like feeding my cats dry food. I bought individual cans of different types of LID foods elsewhere that I'm going to try with my cat, and am also trying probiotics in whatever foods I can get him to eat.
Looks good to me. Unfortunately, my cats do not care for it. They keep removing it from the bowls and scattering it around. But your cats may like it. I think the food is high quality.
My cat needed to change her food due to IBS, and her vet recommended the duck and pea formula. She has been on it for two weeks, loves it and is doing much better.
