Although it took my flock a little while to get used to the different shape, it has been a marked difference in the amount of waste and my flock seems to be just as healthy as when I was having to mix multiple feeds together and add supplements. I’m very happy with this feed. However I’m very disappointed that chewy doesn’t carry the chick feed in this variety. So I still have to drive an hour or more to the farm store to get that. So hurry up chewy and start carry the baby food version!

They left it in the feeder and tried to eat the younger chickens feed through the fence. I noticed that when I scooped this feed to fill the feeder, it felt much lighter than other feeds. I only bought it because it was on sale and it wasn’t even worth the sale price because the chickens won’t eat it.

As far a “crumble feeds” go this one has its own unique sizing. Rather than being ‘crumbs & pieces ’ the way most crumble feeds appear it is simply small rounds pellets. This type of crumble does tend to reduce waste since there is very little powdery residue. It is particularly suited for feeding bantams and/ or ornamental breed chickens. As to whether my chickens actually favor this layer feed over their regular ( larger size pellets ) feed is hard to tell. This feed is also higher in protein- 22% rather than the 16% of general layer feed. It would require much more time to evaluate if that translates into increased egg productivity. It is not labeled as an organic feed.

My chickens like these crumbles! They aren’t the pickiest bunch so they are easy to please. I like that these are less messy than normal crumbles usually are. They aren’t as crumbly, they’re more like an in between of a crumble and a pellet so there isn’t as much dust/residue left behind. The protein content is a bit higher since it’s for ornamental breeds so I feed it to my silkies

I was really excited to try the “clean crumble” but no

Not sure if it's this feed but my girls are laying a ton right now and it's November and cold! They are also getting some scratch food but the only change I made

Not sure if it's this feed but my girls are laying a ton right now and it's November and cold! They are also getting some scratch food but the only change I made was thier regular feed . So I'm definitely going to continue getting this feed!

My girls seem to like it. The 22% protein content is a plus.

I still have to supplement with Poultry Cell in their water to ward off Wry Neck and any other vitamin deficiency notoriously found in this breed.

We love Nutrena

Nutrena has been a favorite feed of ours for a while. We were really excited to try this new formula for our bantams, silkies and guineas. The pellet size is PERFECT

Nutrena has been a favorite feed of ours for a while. We were really excited to try this new formula for our bantams, silkies and guineas. The pellet size is PERFECT for smaller birds. It arrived just in time for molt, so I'm confident everyone is getting plenty of nutrition during that time. Everyone immediately started gobbling it right up! This food was a big hit with our birds and I love the higher protein content.

They all liked it

This feed is uniformly pelletized and smells fresh upon opening the bag. It has an easy open strip, but I must’ve pulled from the wrong end because after 3 minutes

This feed is uniformly pelletized and smells fresh upon opening the bag. It has an easy open strip, but I must’ve pulled from the wrong end because after 3 minutes of fighting with it I just gut the bag open. The chickens I have ranged in ages but all are hens and range in size from silkies to full sized birds- the all liked it.
