My doggie really enjoyed this toy, and I found it easy to fill and use....However, I found a few pieces of blue green plastic around my kitchen and didn't realize it at first, but it was from inside the part that spins. Big time product flaw. When the food is spinning around inside, parts of the plastic clasps that hold the spinner together have broken off. That is what I am finding on my floor! I'm hoping my pup did not eat any of them, but who knows. Very frustrated that an item used properly would break apart in this way and create a hazard. Thankfully Chewy gave me a refund, but I think the company needs to know so that pups aren't swallowing plastic.

Great slow feeder that works with large breed food

I've had this feeder now for a couple years and it's still holding up well to my Doberman and its one of the few puzzle feeders that take her more than 30 seconds to eat from. One of the most important things is the holes are big enough for large breed food to go through! The clear tube is two pieces and held together by the end pieces screwing on. I'm not sure what some other people were talking about when they said some internal tabs broke, as mine has nothing like that. The tube stays in well, you need to press one side over and pull up at the same time (while also holding the base down). Its easy to do with opposable thumbs, but it does catch so it won't pop out easily (think snug toilet paper holder). I don't know if the design changed at some point or the other reviews mentioning that theirs comes out easily, just go a defective unit. It's easy to hand wash by just screwing both ends off and opening the clear tube up.

This is a great way to slow down the eating pace of our large dog and he figured it out fairly quickly. Two downsides. One, if the tumbler is spun forward, the kibble can get stuck behind the tumbler and prevent it from spinning. Two, this item is not dishwasher safe and the tumbler is difficult to clean well on the inside. Great concept, just a couple issues that could use improvement.

Our little guy finds this one frustrating, so it is good to tucker him out. The design just seems a little flawed. If the food/treats are too small, they get stuck behind the tumbler and jam it. If he spins it too fast, it shoots everywhere. The holes and ridges make it hard to get all of the food/treats out. Great idea, poor execution.

The inside part of the cylinder has these little clasps that hold the two sides together. When I was filling it after the 3rd week we had it, I noticed that six of them were missing. I found two on the floor but the others were most likely ingested. He is using it as usual and the food we put inside is simple puppy chow. Not sure why they would put something inside that could break off so easily. It did help him slow down eating but I'd rather my pup not eat plastic haha

I have a 7 year old Pit/Staffy mix and a 9 month old Boxer/Pointer mix. I bought one of these puzzles for both dogs and this didn't work for either of them. Within about 3 minutes, they both figured out they could nose underneath the barrel, dislodge it, and chase it around the room to get the food out. The older one got her mouth around the barrel and jus tpicked it up. (Which is exactly what I was trying to avoid!) I feel like this is a great design idea but small changes could make it really great. The individual components being easy to clean was the best part.

Messy and Gets stuck

My dog loves her other food interactive toy so I was excited to introduce this one to her. I got it all set up and started showing Maple how to use it and the dog

My dog loves her other food interactive toy so I was excited to introduce this one to her. I got it all set up and started showing Maple how to use it and the dog food was just flying out the back of it if she got it to spin hard. I think it is intended to maybe rock back and forth rather than spin a bunch because even the dog food would get lodged in the back between the spinning part and the back wall. My dog still uses it I just have to check it often to make sure a piece did food isn’t stuck behind it and pick up piece of dog food that fly off it.

We need to slow down eating.

Well, the bowl moves around when she is trying to get food. Holes are kinda small for the food, plus it gets trapped behind the cylinder when it spins.

Emmy really enjoyed this puzzle feeder, quickly learning to spin it with her paw to release the kibble and treats it held. I'm using it to feed about half of her daily kibble, mixed with treats to keep it interesting to her. Now she prances around at my feet as soon as she sees me holding it to fill with goodies!

I gave 5 stars because it's sturdy, doesn't scoot across the floor easily, and a medium to large dog will really enjoy this. I'm using it to feed an overly smart cheweenie. Not a big dog. Barrel is smooth... However, I put duct tape strips lengthwise across the barrel so he can grip the tumbler to turn it. He takes forever to eat. But he can do it. Win for mom.
