NOW Pets L-Lysine Immune System Support Cat Supplement

    By on Top 25 Contributor

My vet prescribed me some l-lysine chews that my cat would not eat no matter how I tried over several days. This powder arrived today and I successfully administered prescribed dosage! It actually tastes a bit like slightly bitter chalk, but is possible to mask in various foods. I cannot attest to the efficacy of product for prescribed condition as it is being used as a booster while we troubleshoot the situation. I will possibly be using l-lysine long term and am very happy to have purchased this but would hesitate to recommend to someone who's vet didn't also okay it first. Mine didn't come with a scooper, but I have a set of teaspoons.

    So glad I found this

We take care of the ferals in our neighborhood and this has been a game changer. Keeping them fed, sheltered and as healthy as they will allow us gets costly. Their eyes have cleared up a lot since giving this to them and overall look better and happier.

    Cat will eat it!

    By on

I have a very finicky 12 year old cat who constantly has runny eyes. I have tried other lysine supplements and this is the only one she will tolerate. I mix it with her canned food and she does not turn it down. I have noticed a decrease in the runny eyes, but it is not completely gone.

    Effective powder

    By on

One of my senior cats seems to be having more frequent (3 in the last 9 months) upper respiratory and ear infections. In addition to standard veterinary care, this powdered product seems to boost her, and has helped her clear up this last one. It seems to be palatable to her when mixed in with the wet food. My vet recommended we try L-lysine. This is a good option for cats who won't or can't eat the lysine gummies. Cost is very reasonable as well.

    Just what the doctor ordered!

    By on

After my vet suggested L-Lysine, they wouldn't eat the chews and didn't care for the gel, but the powder seems to suit them nicely. They eagerly eat any food that I sprinkle it on. I have already told several of my cat-loving friends about it.

    Affordable alternative

    By on

Our vet recommended lysine for one of our cats, and gave us a gel to mix in with her food. She doesn't care for the flavor so we could only give her half the recommended amount. This finely granulated formula mixes in well and must have no taste as it is not refused. Our cat is now getting the appropriate amount and we have seen an improvement in her sneezing.

    L-Lysine easy dose.

    By on Top 10 Contributor

For cats that don't like the treat style or the paste, this is perfect. Simply put it in wet food and they will never know. Was extremely pleased at the size of this for the low price. This bottle is huge and will last a very long time.

Now Pets vs Doggone Best L-Lysine

    By on

Purchased this brand because of price. Mistake! This granular, 276 mg per serving, vs powdered Doggone Best at 900 mg per serving, was not as effective in controlling our cat’s eye problem. I am not bad-mouthing this Now product quality, only pointing out that you might get better value & effectiveness if buy a powdered, higher mg dosage L-Lysine instead of a less expensive, lower concentration, granular product. The powdered type also mixes into wet food better, less frequently. Always check with your vet, I didn’t.

Not easy to get it eaten

    By on

Something about this makes my two not as interested in eating. Fortunately they will still eat with this sprinkled on.
