Fresh smell will have them running to meal time.

I have an elderly cat with chronic GI issues so I end up trying many varieties of cat food (in all flavors and age groups). Unfortunately she did not take to this

I have an elderly cat with chronic GI issues so I end up trying many varieties of cat food (in all flavors and age groups). Unfortunately she did not take to this food as a back up plan for her bad days. However every other cat in my house went batty the second I opened the can. I of course let them try what she would not eat and I do believe I may try out an age appropriate diet of the same brand for them. The smell is very inviting and it seems to give them no digestive issues. The price point is reasonable and I would recommend those with kittens give it a try.

Mixed (and oddly backwards) reception

I tried this out for my little girl, Bella, a rather picky eater who requires "You're spoiling her!" level of coaxing to eat wet food, often turning up her nose at many offerings that I’ve attempted to provide her. I'll consider this partial success. The good news is that for both the Shreds and Pate varieties she walked up and began eating without any coaxing (caveat in a second), which I must say is pretty unheard of for her. That is (here's the caveat), of course, IF I've added additional broth (specifically formulated for cats), which as an FYI is table stakes baseline for her. Really wet food is a broth delivery system for her, as she eats very little of the food, favoring to mostly just lick the bowl clean of broth and gets some wet food in as an artifact to the process (which is why I tend to stick to the Pate varieties as she'll end up getting more of the food in the effort). So again, the takeaway for me here was that she'll go for it without the usual coaxing. The bad (or odd) news is that our boy Loki is normally a feline vacuum and will eagerly go after anything placed in front of him and the benefactor of finishing off whatever Bella leaves. For both Shreds and Pate HE was the sniff and walk away in disdain character. He'll come back after a few hours and eat it, but, yeah, I've never seen him walk away from food at first offering before, which has me a bit perplexed. This is why I deducted a star - not TOO punitive because ultimately he will eat it, but it does make me wonder why our little Dyson is wary of it at first. The ingredients list looks good. The texture on the Pate is the pretty typical Spam-like consistency which can be easily fork fluffed if that is to the preference of your feline overlords. The Shreds is less like shredded chicken than others I've seen with Hawaiian sounding names; It's a bit more like a more solid rendition of the Pate that's been diced up into tofu-like cubes. The gravy on these is nicely thick, although I know my cats would tell you they'd prefer to see more of it.

Moist and light kitten food

I tried 2 different types of Prowess kitten food for my 1 year old exotic short hair.Neither flavors have corn or wheat in them. The 1st was salmon & chicken liver pate. This is a very light pate with a lot of moisture. As soon as I put this in her dish she ran over and began to eat which is unusual for her. The 2nd was chicken in broth. This was a food with small pieces of chopped chicken with carrots which looked delicious. My cat was not as thrilled with this one and I noticed it didn't have a very strong smell to it to entice her to try it. The next day I gave her the salmon again and after a couple of nibbles she acted like a typical cat and walked away. I will continue with the salmon to see what happens as I know she was very enthused the first time.

I’m so glad I tried the Nulo Prowess Bright Beginnings Variety Pack Kitten Wet Food. My kitten absolutely loves it! Both the Salmon & Chicken Liver Pâté and the Chicken Shreds are clearly high-quality — you can see it as soon as you open the can. The combination of pâté and shreds in one variety pack has been perfect because he doesn’t get bored with his meals, and he happily eats every flavor. It also gives me peace of mind knowing it’s Nulo, because their ingredients and nutrition standards are excellent. I feel confident that he’s getting great protein and clean ingredients while still loving the taste. This has quickly become a staple in our home!

The cats loved both varieties of this high quality food. I loved the shred style version slightly more because it requires my cat that is a speed eater to chew and eat more slowly. If you have a senior cat with bad teeth that may be a problem, but for us it was a benefit. The shreds do have small chunks of carrot if you have a picky eater. The pate is a standard pate. I’ve attached photos of each. I will purchase the shreds going forward.

It was hit or miss

I have three cats; an older kitten, and 2 seniors. I picked this for my kitten but in reality all ate on it. I dont feel any of the three are particularly picky eaters. That being said, the only flavors in the box they are were the pate. The chunkier one they did nto care for at all. I offered them all the cans over a period of a week hoping they would get used to it but it was a no go. As the human in the equation, i lole the ingredients. It smelled decent. Im happy it did not come on a pouch. The food, when bot on slae, is way procier than i would buy. And, at the end of the day, if they wont eat it, theres no point in buy.
