Nutri-Vet Hairball Paw Gel- 1) does the product actually work & how- Does pet vomit or pass in litter box, 2) does it noticeably lessen the shedding, 3) Is the coat shinier and healthy to the touch. 4) Any digestion issues? Thank you

Answer by ChewyNov 19, 2018
This gel helps lubricate the intestinal tract so the pet may pass hairballs in their feces. It also minimize's excessive shedding and promotes skin and coat health.

How often should I use this product

Answer by ChewyFeb 10, 2018
Apply 1/4 teaspoon of Paw - Gel to your cat’s paw once or twice daily. Because it tastes so good, you can even offer if right from the tube.

My cat is allergic to chicken - does “natural chicken flavor” contain chicken?

Answer by ChewyAug 28, 2019
Nutri-Vet Cat Hairball Paw-Gel Chicken Flavor does not contain chicken or chicken derivatives.

Can I mix this gel with my cat’s wet food if my cat doesn’t like this gel on his paw? Is that more effective if applying to my cat’s paw, or it’s fine to give this gel with cat’s food?

Answer by ChewyMay 21, 2021
This supplement can be given out of the tube or mixed with food if they refuse the supplement on their paws.

Unfortunately, the last two tubes I purchased in the last six months have not been good. They have changed the formula and it now smells bouillony, is darker and dryer/thicker. My cats used to lick this right off my fingers when it was a creamy, chickeny formula. Now I have to shove it towards the back of their mouth! :( Why did they have to change the formula?!

Nutri-Vet Chicken Flavored Gel Hairball Control Supplement for Cats

My cats loved this product when we first began to use it several years ago. However, the formula was changed at some point and it is no longer a gel type formula

My cats loved this product when we first began to use it several years ago. However, the formula was changed at some point and it is no longer a gel type formula. It is very thick, a darker color, and feels gritty. When I opened the tube brand new I thought something had gone bad. Opened up another tube and the same thing. Tried to give it to my cats and they won't touch the new formulation. Had to toss brand new tubes out because of this. If they ever go back to the original which was smooth and flowed very well, and the flavor was as the original, I would buy it again. Until then, no way. Sorry Nutri-Vet, this new formation was a no go here.

Product formulation has been changed. It can no longer be used as a partial because it is thick and dry and hard. I tried five different tubes when the formulation was changed, contacted manufacturer, after submitting many proofs and discussions they finally refunded my money. What a shame to have to throw away what used to be such a good product.

Thick and hard - both cats refused it

My cats used to love this, but the tube I got was super thick and really hard to squeeze out. The consistency is nothing like it normally is and my cats won’t come

My cats used to love this, but the tube I got was super thick and really hard to squeeze out. The consistency is nothing like it normally is and my cats won’t come near it. I don’t know if this is a manufacturing or storage issue or if they changed the formula. Just awful.

Mixture varies

All my cats love this, unless it comes in too dry. The mixture changes from batch to batch. Whenever the batch is dry, I have to inject a ml or 2 of vegetable oil

I hate it when companies change formulas

My cats have enjoyed this hairball laxative for years. But, this last batch was thicker, and the cats immediately turned away. I wish companies would let us know

Formula change

My cats loved this hairball remedy. The texture was like a mousse. The texture has been changed and is now like a paste and neither of my cats want anything to do

Easy to use

Jet is not fond of any kind of supplement that is pasty, but accepts this, mixed into her food.

First my last order didn't have this item. I bought 3 litter trays for my automatic litter box. I had an older automatic box and the litter trays were fine. I ordered a new automatic litter box and the trays weren't as full of litter as the trays I had been using. After a short while my cat went outside the box so I ended up having to buy a bag of litter and adding it to the boxes. It lasts about 3 or 4 trays before I have to buy another one. These trays were already expensive (3 for a total cost of (70 something) and now I have to buy extra litter?? I asked for my old litter and it was missing litter as bad as the new ones. This is ridiculous to have to buy the trays and the extra bag of litter! And how much does the bag of litter cost? A tray barely lasts 2 weeks even with the xtra litter. So close to $100 for a month's worth of litter, definitely under a month and a half. Very bad show chewy!
