As others has posted this product isn't the same as the one I've been buying thru Chewy for years. This new one has a black cap ( which I had to remove to try & squeeze the product out ). The texture is HORRIBLE! Very dry & hard to get any out of the tube, when I did my cats wouldn't touch the stuff ( & they loved the old creamy one ). I called Chewy & they refunded my $$, but I have no idea what I am going to use for cat family as I don't use fish flavored products any more. Hopefully the new company that is now producing this product will get the hint & go back to the old formula. I already called them ( had to leave a voice message & time will tell if they return my call. So for those who have been affected by this chance please call the company & complain. Their phone # is 1-800-690-9908
Added this to our Auto ship and just opened a new tube and Coop won't touch it. He ran away and left it in the bowl for three days before I tossed it and I noticed that it was a lighter color. He would eat the older version right from the tube! Since this didn't have any petroleum products in it, I loved it. Anyway I found the older tube, (under the bed) and did a comparison between them. They have changed the recipe/formula quite a lot. See photos. So the cat was right not just being picky. Now I am stuck with 2 tubes he won't eat and have to shop for something else for his gut and hairballs.
The cats seemed to like the taste of this, but the consistency is so hard to use. It gets very hot here, and when I tried to place this on my cat's paw like the directions said, it just poured out in a complete liquid. He then flicked his paw to get it off, and it went EVERYWHERE. So I put it in the fridge so it wouldn't melt, but then I could barely squeeze it out of the tube, it was just this horrible, sticky mess. I tried putting it on a plate, mixing it with treats and food, but the consistency is just too difficult to do anything with. The cats would lick it a little, but wouldn't actually ingest enough for it to actually do anything. This was a fail for me.
I purchased this product in the hope that my cats would enjoy a different flavor. They all turned their noses up at the gel. Also the gel was hard to get out of the container .it really didn't have a decent consistency.
It took a long time to finally find a hairball cream that is not petroleum based (my cat hates that) and that she LOVES! She really gets excited when she sees me get it out for her. Very pleased with this product. It is a treat and hairball cream.
This is my first order of this. My "Lilly" doesn't care for it at all, but I'm still trying!
My cat refuses to eat this, or even lick it. I have tried to put it on her paw like suggested, she promptly flung it everywhere including all over my face and the proceeded to rub it off on the carpet and my clothes. She won't eat food if I mix even the smallest amount in & now hisses and bites at me every time I pick up the tube. Maybe other pets aren't as rude as my Siamese starts out, but I don't need products that bring out her rage. I wouldn't buy this again and am going to have to throw out the tube. I live in fear of her eventual retaliation....
I have three cats and they are like the flavor of this. I just put it on their paws and it helps with the fur balls.
We have 2 medium haired indoor kitties that have consistent, large hairballs. This stuff used to be such a savior. They used to cry for it at all hours of the day, it was almost TOO good. I just bought some in March, however, and the company must have changed their formula. Our cats will no longer eat it, so I’m left shopping around for better alternatives. Would not recommend unless the formula is changed back.
My cat Athena hated all the other ones this one without the gel in it. I put it on my fingers she like eats my fingers. She loves it. Anyone with the finicky cat needs to get this.
