One Fast Cat Gen 7 Cat Exercise Wheel, Black with Black Felt Pads

I bought this to keep my cat healthy and fit. Cats tend to lounge around a lot with very little movement. So, I bought this exercise wheel and of course day one she was afraid of it. Didn't know what to do. But, it will take some training for your cat to get used to it. Pros the exercise will only took about 30 to 45 minutes to build. No tools required. Cons; lots of packaging, the wheel itself is very large and can look out of place if you keep it in a living room, where the wheel connects to the pin. The pin can fall out due to it not being properly lock in. So be careful of that. Pinch points warning. My cat has a tendency to start walking and jump off put her paw in the wheel area. The felt pads can cause a lot of frustration. I managed to get every single pad aligned and placed properly. But the very last pad did not fit. And overlapped the other pads. So, the only way to get it to work I forced it in.

I caught my kitten doing laps in my washing machine and I knew immediately they needed a real exercise wheel. They love this thing. They were hesitant at first bc it’s a lot bigger than the washer but now I hear them sprinting on it all the time. If it would allow me to upload videos I would. I haven't been as diligent as I should be about training my cats to use the treadmill, but the usual suspects tried it anyway. One uses it unprompted and he and two others will happily jog on it when they're motivated by a treat. Two cats won't touch it and since they felt it move they jump across it instead of stepping on it. The final two don't use it on their own initiative but they could probably be trained to use it in exchange for treats. So in summary three of seven taught themselves and use it on their own now and then. Only two of the seven are hopeless cases who probably wouldn't respond to training. The ones who use it are the three most intelligent, so if you have a smart cat it might be a good investment. The wheel was easy to put together. Mine has the blue koi foam pads and nobody seems to object to that surface. When assembled it's pretty light. The treadmill part sits on top of four skateboard-like wheels on the base but isn't attached, so it's easy to take the two sections apart for relocating to another spot. I put felt sliders under the base of it because the included pads weren't very effective. It's quiet when it's in use but the cats themselves chirp as they jog so the noise level is a wash. When I first put it together I wasn't impressed with the stability but there haven't been any issues in practice.
