Eliminate unpleasant smells in your small pet's habitat with Oxbow Pure Comfort Natural Small Animal Bedding. While Guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas and other small pets are instinctively fastidious, they often get a bad reputation for being smelly. But odors are caused mainly by low-quality, soiled bedding and infrequent bedding changes. Oxbow Pure Comfort Natural Small Animal Bedding is a clean, ultra-soft bedding material that absorbs up to 800 percent of its weight in moisture, resulting in exceptional odor control and easy cleanup. It is made of 100 percent pure, never-printed paper, making it an ultra-soft, dust-free bedding choice. Just place 1-3 inches of the bedding on the floor of your pet's habitat and check daily for soiled areas. Remove and replace entire layer of bedding at least once a week or more as needed.

I’ve tried MANY different types of beddings for my gerbils. I have three of them, all separated. Trust me— I’ve tried everything I can to pair them, but it doesn’t take. They’re very happy separate though, and I make sure to give them lots of enrichment. That includes, A LOT of bedding. The thing is... I haven’t found the right brand, until now. I used to be a religious Kaytee bedding user, but I realized it was running out too quickly, and cost too much. It was really soft, but having three different cages, definitely changes things. So I tried carefresh... and it wasn’t even close to the reviews. It would either come extremely hard (and my gerbils would hate it), or it would come EXTREMELY I’ve tried MANY different types of beddings for my gerbils. I have three of them, all separated. It would either come extremely hard (and my gerbils would hate it), or it would come EXTREMELY dusty. I’ve bought carefresh about 5 different times, and each time it comes back one way or the other. It’s never actually soft... which really disappointed me. I didn’t know how other people got good bedding from carefresh, and I was wishing I had too. And after using bad bedding for a while... I finally found this one. I took a leap of faith buying it, but trust me.. it was WORTH IT. It has almost no dust, which is rare. Usually bedding has more dust than what marketing says it has, but this one had exactly how much it says it has. The 99.9% is absolutely true, and I’ve never been able to say that about a bedding brand. I can even face the bedding while putting it in my gerbils’ cages, usually I have to look away or the dust will trigger my allergies. The carefresh dust lingered for an entire day— that’s how bad it was. But this one didn’t even linger, and none of the dust sticked to the cages either. It’s really light and soft, and my gerbils really enjoy digging through it. It also doesn’t get any smell too quickly, unlike Kaytee bedding. It even expands A LOT, which was unexpected. I’ll be buying the bigger package soon, seeing as my gerbils love it so much. I would recommend mixing with some Kaytee bedding for extra tunnel material (if your pet really enjoys that), but my gerbils seem to just enjoy digging through it freely (which they normally can’t do much with other bedding). I might be adding some other textures later on though, just for some extra enrichment for them. I’m so happy that I don’t have to worry about my allergies, or respiratory problems in my gerbils anymore, and I’m happy that they enjoy a bedding that’s good for them. Please try this if you’re having any problems with your bedding, trust me, it’s worth it!! :)… more
Good!!! And heavy
on Mar 24, 2021
This is a good bedding for me and my syrian hamster, it gets heavy when it is dirty. But other than that it is not dusty, and it is easy to get out of the cage, with little to none left over. I also wish that there is a bulk and huge bag of bedding

Oxbow natural small animal bedding

This bedding is a great price and can actually be cut in half and used twice!! I have a rabbit who is messy and so I spend a lot of money on bedding. I highly recommend this bedding for the price and the fact that you can use it twice
Perfect for rodents

The ONLY bedding my guinea pigs like that DOES NOT have “odor control” chemicals or baking soda in it. The least dusty I’ve found, which is better for their sensitive respiratory systems and the softest I’ve found so far. No dyes. I love Oxbow and all they do for animals!

There are better brands. This one's kinda dusty and the bits are smaller than ideal.

This ox pure comfort small animal bedding was the worst bedding
Soft and Airy
on Oct 4, 2020
This bedding is very soft and my guinea pig gets very comfortable lying on it. However, it does not absorb the wet very well. I have to replace the wet part of his cage every day. At first I mixed this bedding in with the Carefresh bedding that I usually use. My guinea pig seems to like this bedding better. I only wish it would absorb the wet better than it does.
Feels like paper towel and is messy!
on Jul 17, 2020
I’m a religious carefresh user but decided to give this a try since it was cheaper and is an oxbow product. The material is incredibly lightweight and is almost like ripped up (off-brand) paper towel. It stuck to my bun’s fur and made a huge mess almost immediately. While it does what it’s supposed to do litterwise, the mess it produced in such a short period of time is not worth it to me. I’ll stick with carefresh from now on.
As good or better than Critter Care!
on Sep 11, 2020
Being a long time purchaser of Critter Care, I got this as a substitute. It’s great! Absorbs and is easy to clean the bunny litter pan. No odor and all natural, so very safe.
