Dreading the day this partnership is over because why does my girl love it so much more than other Weruva pates.. Due to the low calorie content she also gets a “side dish” of one Vital Essentials turkey patty, which I feel like Paris would approve of.

Not Good At All

Very little in the can and what was in the can was slimy. Tom didn't much care for it either.

One of my cats is diabetic, so I was surprised and very pleased when I worked out the numbers and saw how low the carbs are for this food. I had already given out food and insulin for the day before the package arrived, so I had to wait till the next morning to try it out on my gang. When the can is opened there is a very strong smell of chicken. I was SURE my cats would love it. There is a gelatinous layer on top which does not extend around the sides or on the bottom. The texture of the food is very smooth, almost like a very thick baby food. It reminds me of a thicker version of the cat treats that are squeezed from a tube-like package. I was doubly certain my cats would love it! If the can is gently shaken, the food jiggles like soft-set gelatin. I decided to give it out as it stood, instead of adding water as I usually do. When I set their dishes in front of them, all but one sniffed it and walked away. My diabetic cat took a few licks, then wouldn’t touch it again (That’s him in the picture). I tried adding a bit of water, but found the food didn’t seem to blend well with the water. It tended to stay in clumps for the most part, no matter how much I tried to combine them. The last picture is of the food after I tried to add some water to it. They all turned it down every time I gave it to them after that first time, BUT there was one of my cats who absolutely adored it. After my indoor kitties turned it down, I gave it to my outside friends. One wouldn’t touch it, but the other gobbled it down like he was starving (he’s not, I see to that). He ate every bit of it. Don’t let my fussy fuzzies dissuade you from trying this product. The smell and texture would be enough to tempt just about any cat…except my goofballs. They’re just like that.

I was hoping this would be better than it was, considering the price. The can it is in is more substantial and thicker than other similar-sized brands, which isn't really necessary. Upon opening the can I could see it had a thick, gelatinous layer on top. The food does not fill up the can like other brands. I was thinking "bone broth" when I saw the top layer, but with all the gums and starch in the ingredients I knew that couldn't be. When I took the food out of the can and turned it upside down, it was a very soft, mousse-like consistency, which would be great for senior or sick cats who are being picky about their texture of foods. My first test kitty would not touch it, along with one other. I think it was the gelatin layer that was offputting. I found that by heating up the food and stirring it all together where some of the gelatin melted, that worked better. Still a no for the first test cat, but a few others did eat it that way. I should have thought to put the sealed can in hot water and seen what that did to the gelatin layer. So I feel like it's going to be a 50/50 chance for your cat as to whether they will eat it or not. Again, a very nice mousse texture when I was looking for something for a sick cat or one that doesn't want hard food, or a CKD kitty, but it will still be a tossup if they like the smell, which is always the first impression for a cat. So if you want to spend the money on something more expensive, but not necessarily any better than any other canned food, try it out. If you are looking for a very soft food, it would be worth a try, but heat it up so the gelatin melts some and stir it all together and you might have more success.

My cats are picky eaters, so I was doubtful to try something new. However, two of my three cats really loved this Pamper Like Paris chicken pate. The texture is smooth, the can size is just right for two cats, and it's not super stinky like some competitor brands. My third cat was a bit hesitant to try it, so I mixed in his favorite crunchy treat and then he ate it all. All three now come running when they see me with this can!

One of the first things I noticed was the texture of the food. Best description would be a gelatin like, almost “slimy” like substance that sits on top of the pate! I’m guessing it’s the “hydration” factor as it’s described on the label? All my cats really liked it and some literally meowed for more! Yes it was definitely a hit amongst them, so I think I made a good choice as I went with the Chicken Breast Dinner. Chewy was so quick with the order also as I received the 12 pack the next day! Thank you Chewy!

The packaging was cute. It has an easy tear off lid to store in the cabinet. There was a weird congealed substance on top of the food. I just had to mix it up a little bit at first our cat was super interested in it, but ultimately didn’t finish the amount we put in the dish. It’s very wet and mushy very finely ground. She isn’t normally very picky but I think she was just OK with it.

I was a bit surprised to see Paris Hilton and an even prettier cat on a can of food but it’s a partnership with Weruva which makes high quality food. I thought the texture was unappealing but kitty scarfed it down and she is moderately picky. And the benefit of the texture? The residue doesn’t turn into cement like the flakes from her other food which makes clean up easier.

My 20 year-old Rag Doll will eat just about any wet food, but to this, he said "no thanks". Of all the cat foods I have served him, this smelled about the worst and it had a thick layer of a gelatinous goop on the top that was hard to mix throughout. Neither one of us was a fan of this cat food.
