This worked great for about a week. Then the shock quit working. I seldom use the shock, but not having that option creates a problem. However, Chewy support refunded the cost immediately. Thank you!
About 1 week in with fairly heavy use. Dog is 75# Shepherd rescue who was abused & wants to run off. Using vibration level 6-7 almost exclusively & the battery life seems great. Still reading full off the initial overnight set up charge. Haven't pushed much distance, maybe 50 meters at most, but no complaints on effectiveness. The buckle seems solid & works well. It also may have been improved upon, as it doesn't fit with older complaints. My biggest complaints are with the remote. The belt clip (the main reason I purchased this model over the next one down) snapped clean off on the 2nd day of use. It was barely bumped against a shelf & snapped. The other major issue is that the buttons don't have anything to prevent accidental triggering. A simple raised ridge around each button to prevent a chair armrest or bumping into a wall/door/human from triggering it is absolutely necessary. Accidental shocks or vibrations are just as bad as using a remote collar without instruction - you can very easily mess up a dog permanently. Lastly, if you've never been trained on the correct use of a remote collar, GET TRAINED BEFORE USING THIS. Incorrect usage can and will damage your dog. It's likely the behaviors you're trying to teach or correct will get worse, not better. These are not magic tools that automatically fix problems. Seek out a professional trainer first. No, redneck Uncle Bosco with his trailer in the woods doesn't count.
In one lesson my dog has gone from pulling with a slip collar to heeling with a regular collar. Only had to use vibration twice otherwise used mainly tone. Still working on recall, but much improved.
