The fountain is 1.27 pounds. Due to the dog bowls extra large capacity, it should not be prone to knocking over, however we recommend keeping children away from the fountain. The dog bowl is designed to help reduce the amount of spillage that occurs by slowing down your dogs drinking speed. While the floating tray will help to significantly reduce and in many cases stop spills, based off of various pet's drinking habits we can not offer a 100% guarantee that there will be zero spillage.

I have a golden doodle that thinks his water bowl is his own personal water feature to play in. I also have another doodle who is scared of her own shadow and very skittish. I originally purchased this one for the messy doodle. I had been washing the rug underneath his bowl at least four times a week because he would spill at least an entire bowl of water daily. I have been using this bowl for about a month and there is no spills no messes and even the skittish dog drinks out of it without a problem. It is pure magic or maybe sorcery. I tell every single one of my friends about this. I am astounded how well this works.

I currently have 3 dogs: a French bulldog, a pug, and a Boston Terrier. The Boston Terrier was never an issue when it came to water messes, but my French Bulldog and pug would drip water everywhere from the kitchen to the living room, making Swiffer mop my best friend. When I put this bowl down yesterday, my French bulldog immediately took to it and stopped dripping altogether. She drank normally and walked away without leaving a trail of water behind. My pug, on the other hand, still likes to stick his whole chin into the circle part and pushes it down. He drips not nearly as bad as before. Overall, I'd give this product a four star rating. It's made a noticeable difference by eliminating at least one dog's constant dripping. However, results really depend on your dog's personality and how they prefer to drink.

About 6 mos. ago we welcomed a German Sheppard puppy into our family. We learned rather instantly that she would rather play in the water bowl, and would gulp when she drank. All the splashing resulted in puddles of water being left all over the floors. In talking to our trainer, she recommended we try a water bowl with a “floating plate”. At first our puppy tried to remove the plate, but once she learned how to drink without having to gulp we have had no more issues with her playing in the water bowl. Now my mop gets to take some well deserved down-time (LOL!!!)

EXCELLENT DISH
