The manufacturer rates the bowls as easiest to most difficult in this order: Purple/Flower Teal/Drop Orange/Coral This design is considered a starter level. Large SloBowls holds up to 4 cups of dry kibble and Medium SloBowls holds 2 cups.

Not really dishwasher safe -- and not complex enough for a fast eater.

It's advertised as skid-proof and dishwasher safe, but the bottom is not flat: it is contoured to the shape of the molded plastic on the upper side. Like a hollow

It's advertised as skid-proof and dishwasher safe, but the bottom is not flat: it is contoured to the shape of the molded plastic on the upper side. Like a hollow mold. Therefore, if you put it in the dishwasher, all the dirty, soapy water will collect in the hollows when you wash it, potentially spilling on your other dishes and getting them dirty too, even after the rinse cycle completes. If they say it's skidproof and dishwasher safe, it should have a truly flat bottom with a skidproof rough surface. Also, the gaps between the raised ridges are too far apart to pose much challenge to a dog who gulps their food. Thank you!

Leo is a 25 pound dog that eats 1/2 cup of dry food for a meal twice a day. On Christmas he had the zoomies outside, came inside to eat, and scared us with a fairly serious bout of needing to cough out food he inhaled. I ordered this slow feeder the next day and it helped him slow down. It's a little harder to wash but totally worth the little extra cleaning time to slow him down.

Good quality, all the way

My dogs are enthusiastic eaters, but despite several weeks of use, these bowls are not showing the toothmarks that I've seen in previous dog bowls. My two german-shepherd mix 4 yr olds seem to enjoy their meals, calmly rooting out the yummies from the maze, taking several minutes to eat. They are still fast, but in open dinner bowls, eating was a matter of gulping down the food in well under 1 minute. The non-skid bottom was also a welcome change. The bowls stay in place where I put them, instead of scooting all over the place. I was worried about food residues in the maze channels, but the dogs leave no residues. When I do my dishwashing, the bowls are easy to clean and sanitize.

The maze is the same height as the walls of the bowl and the maze is narrow, making it difficult for dogs with flatter, wider faces to reach the food. Do not recommend for dogs shorter, wider faces.

Perfect for freezing meals

I use this bowl to freeze kibble/broth or watered down wet food. It keeps my 15 week old puppy occupied for 45 minutes or more. Very happy with it.
