Can't go wrong with Outward Hound Slow Bowl
It was time for a replacement for our oldest girl's bowl and we thought we'd change up the pattern (she had the pink 4c that looks like a flower pattern for years). She took to the new bowl right away and seems to be more interested overall in meal time. And I like this one a little more because it's easier to thoroughly clean when hand washing (they are dishwasher safe, too).
Need a Scrunchie
I originally got this as an enrichment activity to try with 2 of my dogs--a basset hound and a border collie mix. Between the two, the basset hound is the one the does the best with it and actively gets excited for it. My border collie mix likes it too, but prefers different types of puzzle toys. The only issue that I run into with this feeder is that I need a scrunchie now (hindsight is 20/20). With how I feed my dogs (rehydrated kibble), my basset hounds' ears get into this mush and the tips get dirty and I end up having to clean them after every meal.
Effective for beagle
I have the orange one but my terrier and beagle seemed frustrated with getting food out. This was is a better fit. They can get the food out, but still at a slow pace, but not so difficult that they r frustrated with meal time. They have medium sized snouts.
A Budget Friendly Slow Feeder Dog Bowl
I purchased this slow feeder bowl on a whim. I was looking for something that was aluminum or wood, but this was the alternative. The bowl is actually made well--it's sturdy and not flimsy. It works great, as it should. My dog would go through one bowl in under 2 minutes. And it has helped with him not vomiting as much, too. Now, it takes him double to triple the time to finish his kibbles. I'd highly recommend for owners whose dogs plow right through their food.
Great bowl for fast eaters
This bowl significantly slowed down my dog's eating habit. Our new 14 month old rescue inhaled his food and we were worried about potential bloat. This bowl is amazing. Very easy to clean as well. It served another purpose also; our other rescue is very picky with eating and this bowl peaked his interest. He loves eating out of this bowl as well.
It slows me down
Woof! Woof! Fur friends! If you want to avoid tummy bloat from chowing down too fast, then tell your peeps to buy you this bowl. Instead of eating my dinner in 3.4 seconds, it now takes me a good 15 minutes! They finish before I do. Hmmm, maybe we should give them this bowl, lol. We did buy one for my other fur buddy and it works great on slowing her down too. We both give it two paws up!! Thanks Chewy!
Good to slow down that hoover eater ..
My Goldendoodle pup eats like a hoover so had to find something to slow her down. The only downside is that it says it's a 2 cup bowl but I only feed 1 cup and it fills it up it would work even better if the kibble wasn't packed in and she had to search for it.
He loves it
For whatever reason our dog decided he didn't like eating from the bowl. We have another slow feeder that he will eat from. I like to give him a clean dish each day. We bought this one because it was a different design. He likes this one better.
Medium slowfeed bowl
We bought this for our Cairn Terrier-Doxie mix, he gobbles his food whole. This slowed him down enough that he chews his food more now.
Works good
We bought this to slow the new puppy from eating so fast. It does the job only because he can’t reach the bottom. We have to give him a little help every once in a while so he can finish. Wish they made one for puppies.
