Description

Help your pal get fishy with it and maintain optimal skin, coat, joint and heart health with the Pet MD Omega-3 Fish Oil Softgel Dog Supplement. Because many common health conditions are caused by inflammation, the advanced veterinary formula combines the anti-inflammatory power of two types of omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, to quell inflammation from nose to tail. This translates into many doggie health benefits for your pup like helping to maintain a healthy immune system, supporting a shiny, flake-free and allergy-free coat, springy joints and strong bones, as well as a healthy heart and brain. Best of all, the omega 3 fatty acids found in these softgels are sourced from cold-water fish like wild anchovies and sardines, plus, they’re veterinarian recommended for all dog breeds, ages, and activity levels. Thanks to its natural fish taste that most dogs enjoy, the capsules can be given on their own, or punctured and mixed into food.

Key Benefits
  • Helps support a healthy heart and brain, supple joints, and a resilient immune system with anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.
  • Sourced from naturally occurring omega 3 fatty acids from wild anchovies and sardines.
  • Promotes healthy skin and coat to help prevent dry, itchy skin, dandruff, excess shedding, and coat allergies.
  • Tasty fish flavor dogs enjoy is great for giving alone in softgel, or punctured and mixed into food.

The soft gel capsules may be given by hand as a treat. If your dog refuses them at first, try adding them to your dog’s food, as some dogs need to get used to the texture of the gelatin capsule. The soft gel capsules may also be punctured and the oil applied directly onto the dog’s food.

Great Product and no GI Upset

    By on

My ortho vet wanted me to start my 11.5 y/o lab on Omega 3 supplements s/p TPLO surgery. I found that many of the ones in the 2000mg sizes gave her diarrhea. So I switched to these and she now gets 2 pills for the same dose and no diarrhea. I started my younger lab too. Both of their coats are also much nicer. Good product at a fair price.

    Omega 3 pills

They seem to be helping some. Hoping they will stop all this itching if I can get their skin moisturized with the oil.

    Works pretty well

    By on

Soft gels are far from soft so if you have a smaller dog with small teeth or a puppy you’ll definitely want to split the pill and put the oil over their food. My dog is 70 lbs and I do this just because he likes the flavor of the oil. They seem to help with his itchy allergic skin.

    Great product!

    By on

I searched for fish oil on the recommendation of my dog’s vet to help with her aging joints and dry skin. These capsules come in a convenient size that makes it easy to give my dog the right amount, and surprisingly she eats them with her food no problem! We have noticed a significantly softer and shinier coat and she seems to be having less joint stiffness. I would definitely recommend these!

    Bad Tasting

    By on

I tried mixing these capsules into my German Shepherd's canned food. When he bites into one, or even if it is whole, he spits it out. He is a big eater, but he refused the food if even one capsule's contents were mixed uniformly into it. I tried putting capsules into balls of raw hamburger. He spit it out. Our dog's best doggie friend down the street also refuses these capsules. I have switched to the dry omega3 tablets and my guy chows them down.

The softgels are 'far from' soft

    By on

While I am sure the Fish Oil inside the Omega-3 Fish Oil Softgel capsules is fine (my cats fur has gotten super soft and shiny since using these), the capsules are DEFINITELY not soft. I have to take a pair of scissors to the gel cap each day and clip the top to be able to pour the oil out directly on the cat food. I can buy fish oil caps from the grocery store with much softer capsules than this. That is the only thing I can say is wrong with the product. (They may have been in the jar too long and hardened with time? - Not sure).

    GREAT SUPPLEMENT FOR DOGS COAT

    By on

Our vet suggested a omega 3 fish oil supplement for our dogs skin and fur. The one we bought was at GNC and 3 times the price, so we bought this and it is just as good.

    Fish oil capsules

It was a different brand than I have been using but I could not find the ones I wanted. Thry’re okay, the gel. Over is a little bit harder than the other brand.

    Giving 3 stars

Gave 3 stars because I've been using these for several weeks and I have not seen improvement in my lab. Going to try for another week and see what happens
