If you have a dog that gets anxious in certain situations, these are great "treats" for your dog. Our dog gets anxious with loud noises (fireworks), etc. We gave our Great Dane some of these chews and they helped. You definitely need to make sure and give these to your dog prior to the stressful situation. We found that if you waited until the anxious moment was occurring that the chews did not work until it was too late. The package indicates that these chews help curb destructive behavior, but our pup is not destructive, so we have no information to share on that aspect of the product.

Pet Protect Advantage Calming is a veterinarian-formulated, science based supplement that is designed to help “calm” your dog during or approaching stressful situations. It has the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) quality seal and comes in soft, bite size chews. Apparently, our dogs found them very palatable and couldn’t get enough! Now do they calm our dogs? Well, for those that are frightened of thunder storms and/or vet appointments and/or people coming to the house, this has helped. You can objectively see a more relaxed, calm dog. This isn’t something that is going to knock them out, nor is it something that requires a ton of chews for a result. Follow the directions and you’ll see for yourself how effective it really is. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is for the inactive ingredients. Not a fan of the powdered sugar, molasses (cane) sugar and soybean oil. However, when weighing everything as a whole, these are absolutely worth trying.

I have a Labrador mix dog who will eat literally anything. However, I gave her these Pet Protect calming treats and she was repulsed. She tried multiple times to eat them, but every time spit little pieces out all over the floor. She acted like they were the worst thing she had ever tasted. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the ingredients because she never fully consumed enough to provide an opinion. They smelled and looked okay to me, but obviously are not appealing to my dog.

Unfortunately, our large pup gets really stressed out during storms. This can be really hard in Florida where storms are plentiful. We typically give her 600 mg os Gabapentin prior to storms to help her through. We gave her Pet Protect Calming and I definitely saw a difference. She wasn’t as calm as she is on Gabapentin but if you are looking for a natural alternative for your stressed dog, I would highly recommend trying this!

These really helped calm our anxious pup! We have a 7 year old mix breed who has always had bad anxiety. He willingly took these like he does his treats! Within a short amount of time he was calmer and relaxing and no so anxious. These have good ingredients as well. He normally would be super anxious but napped instead. They did seem to work rather fast.

Upon opening the bag, there was not an unpleasant odor. The ingredients are all known with nothing that is concerning for me to feed my pups. Directions for use is easily read to give the right amount per weight. My 1 dog is deaf and has separation anxiety, i have noticed she is somewhat calmer, and will stay put if im just running to the other room for a minute.

Absolutely love this product. I was hoping it would help my 14 going on 15 year old shih tzu who was having problems at night pacing and not wanting to settle down for bed. It helped beyond belief and we wont be without it again. Just one chew and in about a half an hour she settles and doesnt pace throughout the night.

He is usually reluctant to new treats, but he seemed to like them. The reason why I am scoring it a 3 is because they smelled really bad. It seemed to give him extra smelly breath.
